bosh or amare?

Post#1 » by BlackIce » Sat Jul 26, 2008 9:30 pm

who would u rather build your franchise around?
bosh is a better all around shooter and a much better defender. I would take bosh but it is close
amare is so explosive around the basket and his numbers are similar to bosh but he doesn't have to deal with the double n triple teaming that bosh had to (until now thanks to o'neal). Who would u rather have right now and in the long term?

Bosh he doesn't have Nash so he jobs harder and he is way more effient, he had around 28% usage and he was still very effient so him without a doubt and now he got O'Neal I see him getting something like 26/8/1.5 without the double teams. Both are young too but I see Bosh being the better player.

Amare's a good player but not a player to build a franchise around the fundamentals aren't there yet. Bosh is showing the fundamentals, which is the most important. Bosh is a two way player where Amare has been embarssed by the likes of Al Jefferson on defense.

Amare without Nash= Chris Wilcox

Amare is potentially better if he gets his mid-range game down. He showed flashes last year, but hasn't quite gotten there yet. Right now, it's Bosh. He plays better defence, he's quicker, smarter, better shooter. Amare's more explosive, a better shot blocker and rebounding and a better scorer but the guy is in constant foul trouble and he's borderline useless outside of 15 feet. Still, at his natural position, the guy is a beast. Don't underestimate him, there isnt much of a gap between 'em.

amare's being really underrated because he's playing with steve nash right now.

his offence is much better than bosh with or without nash.

but his defence is like jose's.

Chris Wilcox's best full season: 13.5ppg / 7.7rpg / 0.5bpg / 0.9spg

Amare's second season (before Nash): 20.6ppg / 9.0rpg / 1.6bpg / 1.2spg

Amare's best season: 25.2ppg / 9.1rpg / 2.1bpg / 0.8spg

Bosh's best season: 22.6ppg / 10.7rpg / 1.3bpg / 0.6spg

Amare without Nash = Bosh

Amare with Nash = Better than Bosh

Right now I'de take Bosh. Mostly because of Amares injury history, and the fact the doctor said he might need another surgery in a couple yeaers because of the way he plays.

If it wasn't for injury though I think Amare is the better player. He's a better shooter, finishes way better around the rim, and can create his own offense too. Defintly isn't just a product of Nash.

I don't think it's fair to say Bosh is the far better defender either. Amare's not good outside of shotblocking. But Bosh isn't really a good defender either. Also it's not really a even playing feild since Pheonix players have to use so much energy offesnivly running where our slow paced team doesn't expend as much on offense.

The factor of Bosh never playing with a decent/real center should also be a factor. Also Bosh is better than Amare on offense he could have 30% usage and still kick a$$.

I agree if amare improve his shot and his defence he becomes better than bosh. Although he has Nash it isn't like bosh doesnt get point guard play from calderon (or ford when he was here). It will be interesting watching both of them next year.

to build a franchise, right now...i take bosh, he is young and has so many ways of scoring...

he has better ball-handling (much better) which makes his automatic mid-range game so much more dangerous, while amare's shot is there (still not even close to as automatic as bosh's), he cant drive with that first step, or spin move like bosh can...

let's put it this way, if one guy was gonna coach the other guy... bosh would be teaching amare, amare is the better shot-blocker, finisher, and athlete...

but bosh is the better overall player, and knows way more than amare.

but if i had to pick from both of them at 18 years of age, and pick a guy to start with, it would be amare, he is the better project, his body and skill is one of very few that rival dwight howard's, he even has more skill than dwight, he can shoot, and face up more than dwight, but dwight is much more dominant inside....

also, bosh is the better overall team defender, his man to man game may not be so good, but amare's is not better.

i really think, if amare had to carry as much weight (barring injuries) as bosh ahs had to in his career, he would be alongside kobe/dwight/lebron/cp3 etc. on mvp ballots...because he can shoot, he just hasnt had to work on it and use it in-game as much because he has had nash/marion etc. by his side, but the man has serious skill...

Amare without Nash= Chris Wilcox[/qui beg to differ amare without nash would still be a all star maybe not as good as he is now but still a all star. I personally would choose bsoh because he doesn't totally suck on defense, plus he shows a better understandment of the game

Nah i think its Amare actually guys.
I dont get where people are saying Bosh has better defense than Amare or Amare doesnt have defense, thats ridiculous. Amare goes up against the big men of the west day in and day out for years. He's the one that went up against Duncan who is possibily the best defensive big man in the past 20 years and put it on him in 2 different series

I'll take Bosh. Bosh seems like he could lead a team on his own while Amare needs stars around him to excel.

Nash benefits more from playing with Amare than Amare benefits from playing with Nash IMO
