I personally think Iverson is the greatest scoring talent in the history of the game. You give him Jordan's height and the guy would have a career average of 40 ppg.

You give AI Yao's height and the guy would have a career average of 15 RPG.

Iverson the Goat at slashing........NO! If were talking ablut strictly slashing the fist name that comes to my mind is Tony Parker. TP has mastered the layup.

I would say Grant Hill in his prime was the best slasher. He made driving to the basket look so effortlessly.

Hill is definitely up there. I also think Michael Jordan was a better slasher than Iverson if you both look at ability to get to the rim, and ability to put the ball in the hoop when drawing contact. MJ would have to be my pick for greatest slasher of all time. His slashing was the most lethal part of his offensive game early in his career.

If he was taller though, he probably wouldn't have the quickness he has or the handles.

There's so many variables, that's it's hard to tell.

I think Lebron should be right up there- he gets to the hoop as well as anyone.

I'm sorry, it drives me nuts when people say this type of stuff. Nobody who is actually trying to make a team evaluates players by not discussing a critical part of what it will take for the player to succeed. There may be some 4 footer out there who is more agile than Iverson, should anyone care about this when talking about NBA basketball? No.

Another key point. I'm 6'9" and people are forever saying to me "If I had your height I'd be in the NBA", and I have to refrain from telling them that when I was their height I was quicker than most of my peers, but with this height my quickness can't hang with even an average guy whose a foot shorter than me. The great big men of the NBA are impressive not just because of their height but because of how agile they are given that height.

To address this directly, my first thought is to compare him to someone like Wade. I don't know how you'd possibly put Iverson ahead of Wade at slashing unless you weren't factoring in whether the player actually got points out of his slash.

You give Yao Al's rebounding and the guy would have a career average of 15 RPG.

I don't think the GOAT scorer should have multiple seasons of shooting 41%, two seasons shooting under 40 percent well into their career, etc. Shooting efficiency plays a huge role in team wins, so having AI taking most of the shots when he shoots less than the team average is not a sound plan unless you want to make highlight clips or something. He pales in comparison to Kobe and a (healthy) Wade, let alone someone like MJ or Oscar.

Earlier in his career, he was right there. But now he's not as aggressive and relies on getting to spots on the floor for short jump shots. AIs more of a whatever it takes type of scorer. He doesnt just slash, which is what makes him a more dominant player than a slasher like tony parker. But that is definitely one of his most dangerous weapons...

Iverson has the most lethal crossover in the league.. He probably has the best handles in the league also.

I would definitely take Wade over Iverson in terms of slashing.
