Is Brandan Wright a bust?

Post#1 » by WadeKnicks2010 » Sat Mar 28, 2009 11:53 pm

Thread: Is he a bust or not? he's been around for a few years now and he's horrible and now he's out for the year.. I keep seeing threads about players who are actually good being busts, why does no one mention this guy?

1. He's not a bust.
2. He's not horrible.

I hope that answers your question. I just ended this thread.

Wright is very good when he plays. He has a PER of 19. Really the question is should he be playing more. Not is he a bust.

If GS thinks he is a bust, lets trade him to Orlando.

I think all talk of him as a bust needs to be reserved until he plays for a coach who hasn't become a senile (Please Use More Appropriate Word).

He's putting up about 17/8 PER36 on excellent efficient, only averaging 4 PF36 (which suggests that fouls are not his problem despite being a prolific shot-blocker) and he can even hit free throws. We know he's tall and athletic, pretty fluid...

I mean, this isn't a bust, this is a guy who needs more minutes.

I dont think so.

He is on the worst team in the league for a player in his position. Nelly wont give him a chance.

cannot call someone that young a bust. I still don't know why he left UNC so early though. I mean look at Marvin Williams. Would you have called him a bust (relative to his draft position) after his first two years. He has shown signs of being a high level player in this league relatively soon. Give Wright some playing time, put him on a team that actually plays basketball and see what happens.

No, but I'm worried about him being injury prone
Ettore Messina says all he needs is a point guard, a defensive stopper, a scorer, and a center.

Raptors draft board:
Ricky Rubio (the PG)
Gerald Henderson (the defensive stopper)
Hasheem Thabeet (the center)

It's time to fill the holes

He's only in his second year and has shown nice flashes when he's played. I was watching the game against the Sixers, and if he can consistently move without the ball and continue to develop that mid-range jumpshot, with his length and athleticism, he can be a very serviceable player in this league.

I sometimes worry about his mentality on the court, more passive in his demeanor, but that can also be due to Nelson running the show and his crazy ways giving players erratic minutes and no sense of consistency.

If he plays for the 29 other head coaches, wright would easily be on the sophmore team at all star weekend this year. nellie is a dumb, (Please Use More Appropriate Word) coach who takes out young players immedialty if they make a small mistake but let idiots like jackson play 40+ minutes even though he would have 5+ turnovers, shoot horrible fg%, etc.

Tyler hit it.

Brandan Wright needs more minutes and has been jerked around so badly, it's ridiculous. He should be seing 30 minutes on a regular basis. He does need work, of course. Especially in the weight room.

Terrible question. He's just very skinny which is leading to so many injuries.

Theres only 1 thing holding him back, the Ansew is DOn NElson,
WRight on Offence is so effiecent it aint even funny, hes so damn long that its damn near impossible to block his shot, he has a nice jumper and and lefty hook, plus hes super quick
Another thing that kinda holds him back is his weight he needs to put on weight on his lowerbody, hes a little fragile,
Nelson is a dumb f*u*C*K, Wright does 1 thing wrong and gets pulled for the rest of the game
I think hes a gonner though Nelson is gonna F up the franchise again watch him average 20/8 on another team
