2008-2009 Gerald Wallace vs 2002-2003 Bruce Bowen

Who is better at defense, 2008-2009 (or insert his best defensive year as of late) Gerald Wallace or 2002-2003 Bruce Bowen? Who is the better shooter? Who is the better overall player? Who would you take in an ATL Team?

Wallace in every case. Most underrated player in the league imo.

Well, if that's the case, then, that's awesome. Although, I do wonder, if he played a Bruce Bowen-like role, only spotting up for threes, how much higher would his 3PFG% be? It seems like he's a Slasher that demands opposing team's attention, so I think that he takes contested threes more often than Bowen does.

Gerald Wallace is worthy of an NBA All-Defensive First Team in one of his seasons. He's a better ball-hawk. He's a better scorer. He's a better slasher. He's a better free throw shooter.

The only edge I can see for Bruce Bowen against Gerald Wallace is that he's very very good at hitting open threes, he is a very tough player, and he's a dirty "enforcer" that uses cheap tactics to win, at times. Maybe he's better as a help-defender too, cutting the floor in half, funneling, and doing what Jordan does to defend players great.

Bowen is the better man defender, but Wallace is better at pretty much everything else. Gerald is a better off the ball defender for sure with all his steals and freak blocks. Wallace is miles ahead of Bowen on the offensive side of the ball as well.
