Pick is top 10 protected. I don't think the Cavs will be a lotto team in 2019.

Odd of the Cavs getting a late lottery pick in 2019 are looking better and better.

This would be nice. The problem is...if they know the pick is top 10 protected and they fall from being a playoff team, they are likely to tank that season and guarantee the pick falls within the protected range.

Pick is top 10 protected in both 2019 and 2020. If not conveyed by then, it becomes two 2nd round picks, on in 2021and 2022.

Cavs are not going to tank. They are not going to miss the playoffs. King James and the whistles
will see to that. Hawks will get that high, first round pick. If you don't want it, trade it to the Sixers
for their disgruntled,, 22 year old center, about to be a free agent next season.

Develop him so that he gets a big contract next season when he becomes a free agent.

Gee whiz. Some people would complain, if they suddenly won a new car in a lottery, then complain
about it being the wrong color!

Quit selling the Cavs short. Just because they fell to a superior Hawks team at home, they are still
in the hunt for a playoff slot. -

:D

Checking on the loss to the green men, seems that all the players, fans and the talking heads are so worried
about the team defense that they showed against the mighty Hawks. Seems that, about 93 points per game
was the most any team had scored on them in their winning streak.

This old man has said, more than once, "Watch out when our shots begin to fall!" Well, they have. Victory
over King James, then pushing the mighty Boston bean eaters before a final seconds win for the green men.

Seems many blame Blazelass for this defeat as he continued to miss, shot after shot and drove inside, only
to be stopped. Maynbe, he is the player to trade to the Sixers for their big man they want rid of. Thoughts?

If Lebron re-signs with the Cavs that pick will be in the late 20s. The scenario of late lotto/possible Cavs tank is predicated on Lebron leaving this summer, but even then they still have a very good player in Kevin Love to lead them along with a contributing rookie they should get in this year's draft from the Nets' pick. Late lotto is a definite possibly if Lebron leaves and Kevin Love doesn't get traded.

If LJ leaves, I think Cavs go full rebuild. The pick is protected, top ten I think. Might not get this one for a while.

Ping pong balls will land where they land, and even if the Cavs go for the tank in 2019, they will still have a hard time trading away Love and his contract. In addition, Cavs are getting a high lottery pick this year from the Kyrie trade. With the new lottery rules, tanking teams can still fall down 5-8 spots, so just because Cavs tank for the 5th or 6th worst record, doesn't guarantee the 5th or 6th lottery spot.
