Re: 2022 Preseason Games 3 and 4
General thoughts on preseason.
Trae & DJM - it's obvious both need to be ball dominant for their best results. Trae is best between the two, nothing major but needs to tweak his approach for the other guys. Murray can be a force leading the 2nd unit.
Hunter - looks to be what he is. Solid on ball defender and overall good scorer. Don't expect much intangibles from his game. Could definitely use another long 6-9 team defender out there.
Collins & Capela - JC is what he is at this point. Good scorer and rebounder but don't expect much intangibles elsewhere. His lack of defensive versatility mainly, offense to a lesser extent hurts the team. I'm generally low on Capela but you see his importance at C when he's not out there.
2nd unit - AH, JH, and Frank are good vets to have and are productive. AH looks like a rich man's Goodwin to me. JH moves well w/o the ball with sum good perimeter defense. Frank can really open up the offense when he's shooting well with his ability to pass, but that defense is worse than expected. With Bogi in there they can really outgun 90% of other units.
OO, JJ, & AJ - my only issue with OO is he can get engulfed by the massive bigs in the league. We could use a legit 7 footer to tussle with the massive trees in the league. I just think JJ has a really high ceiling and we need to explore what he can do with the main unit. If that means Collins is expendable, so be it. AJ is arguably the best three shooter on the team. He has the ability to fake from deep and get to the rim. If his game needed to grow at the expense to Huerter I get it.
