I think that the unfortuneate truth is that JC is way over-paid and that no one was willing to take on his salary and give back anything of value
Also unfortuneately, the Hawks will only continue to use him in a way that reinforces his lack of production and JC will officially be seen as a bad contract. Basically already there

This is what I foresee happening with J Collins. he gets traded elsewhere for pennies on the dollar and becomes an integral part of a contending team.

I think the difference is Gordon was drafted as a 'Franchise' guy but then traded to fit a role alongside better players so he had no pressure, just be opportunistic on offense and play defense. Similar to Wiggins' role with GSW.
