I bet there is not one other NBA team that would have given Fields a GM position. As long as I thought that Schlenk was still running things it was more like an internship. Now it is clear that Nick Ressler and his buddies have been handed the keys

Nah, Landry has been seen as a rising star in front office circles and was already linked to GM jobs around the league before we promoted him.

Why was Fields promoted to general manager?

Chris Kirschner, Hawks beat writer: Fields was a popular target for teams across the league to fill their own general manager roles, so this title change helps keep the 33-year-old in Atlanta. Fields was originally hired by the Hawks because of his relatability with players and his scouting eye when he was inside the San Antonio Spurs organization.

I'm ready to see what Fields can do. Schlenk drafted some decent role players and KH who is above average due to his three point shooter. Overall, our selections have been garbage, but not complete bust, because the players are still in the league.

I disagree with the quality of Schlenk's drafting. We had some high picks that haven't done that well like Hunter and Cam, but over all Schlenk brought in talent. Go back to our drafts before TS and refresh your memory. Nightmare city. Al Horford was the only good pick like ever.

Yeah, Jamaal I see your tweet posts, but that is just talk and just because he was in prep for one day being a GM, doesn't justify that being this early. The Hawks have just purged every quality NBA guy and handed the keys over to Nick's buddies. Nate will be the next to go. I can't waith to see the next frat buddy brought in to coach
