I do lament his lack of a polished post game or a pull up mid range jump shot.

Simply becoming above-average in those two aspects would make Jalen Johnson largely unguardable one-on-one in the half court.

I do think this is a bit harsh. Not being polished is not the same as someone that completely lacks the ability to improve. JJ at 23 is much further along than Collins was at 23.

He needs a pull up mid range jump shot...and a post game.

People who follow atl sports have really low memories. Kid was always a stud, if healthy Hawks are playoff darlings... Niang stays strictly off the bench and Levert with JJ would be a nice combo out there.

Other main issue was missing CC's boards and rim protection. Gafford seems to be the 'missing piece' for that role who's attainable.

We're such a better team when Jalen is on the floor.

I'm putting my faith in JJ and the coaching staff...but I would prefer the dude work more on scoring from the post, mid-range pull up jumpers and 'above the break' 3-point shooting -- none of which are Rondo's strong suits.

Vid shows JJ working on ball handling and working on manipulating the defender off the dribble. JJ is also working on doing it left hand. Not a Rondo fan but I like what they're working on and Rondo knows what he's talking about

But those moves that Rondo is showing him is related to post moves and what he needs to do with his off hand while posting up.

I suppose...I still find it odd that our PF is getting offensive tips from a PG who couldn't shoot or score with regularity. :dontknow:

Seems like Rondo would be better suited teaching Dyson or Kobe while Jalen learned from scoring big men like...Chris Webber, Kevin Garnett, Chris Bosh, Rasheed Wallace, Paul Millsap, AL Jefferson, etc.
