Cam looked pretty nervous in his Lakers Pre-season debut...and the Laker faithful have been unrelenting in their criticism.

Such a huge draft flop and waste of a top 10 pick.

Such a huge draft flop and waste of a top 10 pick.If he could of amount to a atleast starting caliber player, the trajectory of this team would have looked a lot different.
Cam's major flaw is that I think he still seems himself as a star instead of just playing a role. He has yet to master what is being asked of him in that limited role but instead looking beyond that.
Glad we moved on from him in a timely manner, at least we got a 1st for him (used in the Murray trade).

“I feel like I can be a star,” Reddish said in his first comments as a Knick after his new team routed the Hawks at State Farm Arena. “I feel like I could be a legit star. That’s what I’m working to be. It’s pretty simple.” It hasn’t been simple at all for Reddish, who has battled injuries and a glut of wings in Atlanta. He requested a trade before the 2021-22 season started. The No. 10 pick in the 2019 draft has played in 118 career games in his 2½ seasons, averaging 11.1 points on a substandard 38.5 percent shooting. “I think I’m still on track,” Reddish added in an interview with the Knicks’ three traveling beat writers in the arena. “I’ll continue to put the work in. I think I’m still there for sure.”

Before the start of the season, Reddish told The Athletic he was looking to rediscover his “old self,” a reference to how he played in high school when he developed into one of the nation’s top players while acting as more of a playmaker and creator.
Reddish didn’t want to be with the team anymore. He requested out several months ago, sources say, and most players knew he didn’t want to be there, which led to awkwardness inside the locker room.
The Hawks were going to trade Reddish as soon as a team met their asking price, and the Knicks were that team.
Cam can now try to be a star in Lithuania
Bad advice from agents/parents/adults.

I do wish him well and success.
I think it was apparent since his days at Duke that he doesn't have the mindset to be a star talent. In many cases scouts and general managers are not able to see it, but with Cam, it has always been apparent. Which is why I never wanted us to draft him.

Since the Hawks rebuild back in 2018, I have really come to appreciate how important the intangibles are in evaluating young prospects.
Discipline, focus, coachability - these are the real difference makers.
And for all of Trae's many flaws, I've never questioned him on those first two counts.
Cam's career:
- 8 years,
- four different teams,
- out of the league at age 26
is a cautionary tale for sure.

Cam and his team never grasped the 'master the role you are given' - he/they thought he deserved more without even showing he had a grasp for the basics
