What are our thoughts on the Asa selection going into the start of the season?

(I think he's a solid selection outside of the top-20 but would have likely taken a gamble on an unorthodox prospect like Jase Richardson or Danny Wolf.

Or a specialist like Liam McNeeley.)

:D

Seems that we have another winner! Not the great starter that some draft picks shoot for.
He's making himself into a valuable piece of the picture puzzle that becomes the Hawk team!

He can be aggressive and pick up fouls but he must play. There is so much upside here.

12/10 tonight. 3 for 5 from 3.

If Asa Newell continues to score inside and makes his 3-pointers he will move right up the depth charts.

Asa kind of had a coming out party against the Lakers just now!

...26 minutes, 17pts, 5reb, 4 steasls, 1 block, 59FG%

I wasn't too high on Asa coming into the draft but he is proving me wrong. It will be funny if he might be the steal of the draft and better than Queen when all is said and done.

The sample size is so small, but you can make the argument that Asa is the 8th or 9th best rookie so far (also better than Queen). His per40 is at 20/8 with 1.0 block, shooting 55FG%

I like what I'm seeing. Quin will eventually need to play Asa more as the season progresses.

He reminds me of Brooks Lopez.
