I would legit rather have Kobe Bufkin in the rotation right now over Keaton Wallace.

It was legitimately a short-sighted move to just dump the guy.
Even if we didn't pick up Kobe's option for season 4, having him for depth and as a trade chip was probably the way to go for a prospect that once held so much potential.

It was best for him what happened because he has worked on his shot. We can't have a mid 30% shooter on our roster. Trae is bad enough.

$4.5m is probably why we let him go.

Hawks need an actual playmaker at PG...

Yep.
The struggle is real in the halfcourt.
Kobe is more scoring guard than PG, same as NAW.

1. It drove me nuts that Hawks coaching staff tried to move Kobe to PG role as soon as he was drafted. Even at his first Summer league he was put in the difficult position of:

  1. running point
  2. for a lackluster roster
  3. with an ill defined scheme
  4. against new competition
  5. under a sub par coaching staff.

It felt like his momentum was capped from the start with some subpar showings at SL 2023.

2. I put that above tweet in the wrong thread.
