I believe the NBA is overcorrecting for the flaws of small, scoring guards.

They absolutely have a place in this league -- even if the roles should be limited for the time being.

The NBA is cyclical. It's constantly changing. They always go too far in any one direction then circle back.

The Atlanta Hawks spent the better part of eight seasons going as far as Trae Young enabled them to.

Ball averaged 20.8 points and 7.1 assists per game in 2025-26, but he also shot just 40.7 percent from the field. It was the second time in as many seasons that he shot worse than 41.0 percent from the floor. He also buried just 46.4 percent of his two-point field goals.

The former Rookie of the Year is still remarkably explosive and unavoidably talented, but the elephant in the room is identical to the one that cohabitated with the Hawks: The Hornets need Ball to adapt.

Well, I suppose that you can argue that Hawks could have had all four players. Since Ressler is owner that was not going to happen. So I definately prefer the three players to the one

I can't wait to see how things play out with Trae. I suspect that his limitations have become evident and that it's not going to change

Kings turned down Trae Young for Zach LaVine trade

The Kings, of course, had been offered Trae Young at one point in exchange for Zach LaVine. LaVine to Atlanta and Trae Young to the Sacramento Kings. The Kings said no to that deal from what I know, very specifically according to a source of mine. They said no because they knew that the second he got off a plane, he would want an extension and the Kings were not fully prepared to be in the long-term Trae Young business."
