Hahaha, I never realized that. The Wire is the best show on TV.

Decent win. But I'm sick of blowing big leads. They should have never pulled back that far. Yet another good shooting game from Smoove and AJ is back playing well again. But the man tonight was JJ, he stepped it up down the stretch and forced the issue. He is capable of doing that every night, hopefully he'll turn it around.

Lo Wright actually has a chance to save this team inside with his toughness. He's playing like the crafty vet we expected last year. I don't want to see Shelden or Zaza playing many minutes for a while.

cosign and omar IS THAT DUDE!!!

Hawks wrote:It wasn't a great game by any means from anyone beside JJ and Horford. Right now it is a win which the team needed. I will take a few ugly wins in a row if it gets the team going again. Hawks just needed that winning feeling again more than anything. Now maybe they will play the rest of the home games with much more confidence.

I actually thought it was a solid game by everybody. JJ attacked the basket which is something we have been wanting for a while, Horford ran the floor well and grabbed his boards, Smith shot well and played great D, Marv crashed the boards, AJ led some fast breaks... even Lo had a solid game.

Most teams in the NBA lose big leads because you have to put subs in at some point, blowouts don't happen all that often. I would have liked to see us blow them out but the fact that we held on is what matters.

Big win, we are tied with Cleveland for 7th and 3 of the teams ahead of us are only up by one win. We play Washington on Friday for second place in the division. Regardless though, this win puts us well ahead of Indy in the standings but a loss would have really dropped us down towards the chasers.

We blew the big lead because we stopped doing what got us the big lead, PUSHING the tempo. We are very effective pushing the ball, and that's the reason we took the big lead. Then of course we started pounding the ball and walking it up the court, playing "not to lose". If this team would continue to run when the opportunities present themselves, we will be tough to stop.

A PG isn't necessary when you have a team as athletic as ours, half the time it wasn't even the PG leading the break. Cleveland just had no chance when we ran.

True, NDA, but you must remember that Cleveland's PG situation might actually be worse than ours. And I think that is why we could control the game.

I agree 100% on us lettign up though, that was very dissapointing.

When Larry Hughes is your starting PG you have a major problem.

I agree that their PGs suck, but that has nothing to do with US being able to run. If they had Steve Nash, Cleveland still wouldn't be able to keep up with Smith/Childress/Horford/Marvin running the floor and JJ spotting up on the fast break. Just think if Steve Nash had the teammates LeBron had, would they be a running team? No way, because it isn't just the PG that facilitates running.

Cleveland wants to slow the game down because they have Big Z and Gooden, and old PGs who are slow, and this is why WE should run. LeBron is really the only player on their team that can run with the Hawks. And this has been my point, there are VERY few teams that can run with us in the NBA, we will have an athletic advantage over almost everyone.
