Well, ATL had been unlucky the previous years so their luck was due; They're also lucky that Durant doesn't fall to them or it's a disaster waiting to happen. Let's give BK credit that he select the right players with those picks.

The fact that we were "due" for good luck doesn't make BK's moves any better. If he was banking on being due than he is even worse than any of us thought.

I'd take some of you Hawk fans over Billy Knight on draft night. I believe many of you could have easily done a better job and would have kept things behind closed doors.

While Billy does have an eye for talent, the players that have blossomed into potential stars were given picks, or could have been replaced with other players that are now stars.

Anyone of you could have pulled off the Joe Johnson trade or even put Atlanta into a better situation afterwards.

Now, the best thing Billy has done at this point was dumping all the veteran players that needed to go. I had no problem with him moving Jason Terry, but it was a horrible trade from the Hawks stand point, and Billy should have acquired more for this team to build around.

110% agree with you on that, and its not like we are a great team,
.500, that not a great record people, but hay if we make the playoffs then
I will give him all the credit in the world.

First of all the Hawks hadn't been unlucky in previous years. Secondly there is no such thing as being "due" for good luck in the lottery.

Last year Memphis, Boston and the Bucks all fell 3 spots on lottery day. That has never happened to BK.

I will use the word "build" at the start of next season not now... until this point, he still has to do with trades and extensions...

Seriously- its ridiculous to give BK credit for the Horford pick. Last season BK gave up a second round pick and the ability to spend more than the MLE in FA in order to make the AJ trade. That trade was done so the Hawks could make a playoff push- BK wanted the suns to have their first round pick last season . BK just happens to be so incompetent that the team sucked even more after he tried to make a playoff push. And then he got lucky with the pingpong balls to get the third pick.

BK's plan was to have this exact same roster minus Horford. You want to applaud the team BK built thats the team you should be applauding because thats the team he planned to have.

The REALITY is; it is our roster and BK built it. I've seen the stats of how many super-stars/all-stars/stars come out of every draft.

It's some thing like one or two supers, a few alls and 7-10 stars. Something like that.

BK was drafting like evereyone else. You can second guess 3/4's of the top six picks every year. Not just BK.

You can second guess more BK picks than many other GM's. You can also second guess the Speedy and Lo Wright signings.

The Smoove pick was his only great move.

the way i see it, there were 4 teams that decided to rebuild along with BK. the knicks, bulls, blazers and jazz. of those the blazers GM was fired, the knicks suck, the bulls (who everyone said had a better team than us) are crashing and burning, and the jazz are now a perineal playoff team. that's what can be said about BK. he wasn't the best GM during that time, but he sure wasn't the worst. and of all the moves he's made, most if not all the big ones can still contribute on this team (with the exception of speedy who was a bailout after cassell turned us down).

Just because BK was bad and Isaiah and Paxon (from last year on) were completely awful doesn't make BK any better. We are an extremely flawed basketball team. That is a reflection of those who hire our personnel.

Even then, Pax got his team the POs a few times and we haven't yet.

I like our talent a lot better than theirs but its all hypothetical really.

We just have to keep our fingers crossed that Acie works out at the point. If he doesn't.......

I would LOVE to be in the position Portland is in - 1st in the NW Division, LaMarcus, Roy, Outlaw, Jack, Sergio, Webster, many of whom were actually picked AFTER OUR OWN PICK. Not to mention, their GM actual has the balls to make some moves (James Jones, Blake, trading Telfair for Roy) unlike BK, who sits on his hands until June, shuts down workouts 1 month before the draft, and manages to pass up 2 straight ROY's. :banghead:

And comparing us to the Knicks and the Bulls is like comparing a douche to a turd.

I am absolutely amazed that Billy Knight has:

1) a job
2) any supporters
