Basketball teams give tickets away to unfortunate kids and other organizations. I'm sure that bothers some of you here also.

Nothing like comparing apples to oranges...

Should season ticket holders be upset about a Buy 3 games, Get 1 Free promotion that has been going on since 2007? That amounts to 25% off. Are we in agreement that someone who buys more should pay an overall per ticket cost that is less than someone buying 4 games? The only benefit I see to having season tickets is if you really value having the same seats every night. I don't.

Not for sure how great the season ticket holder benefits are in Atlanta, but will vouch for the ones here in Portland.

1. Have attended two season ticket holder events this year, one in which I bowled with Sergio. The rest of the team, besides Roy who was having an MRI, was there too.

2. Same great seats for the entire year, but at a discount for price. The face on my seats is $75 and I pay $54.

3. Any additional seats I buy are at the season ticket holder price, no matter where in the arena they are. Got a great pair of seats ten rows off the court for the Spurs and Laker games for $78.

4. The team designated 5 games to discount seats with a face of $49 for $20. The Atlanta game this weekend is one of those games. Sold my season seats and will be sitting in the discounts.

5. Team has a resale center on its website that does not charge for its services. Sold 20 games that way. It goes towards credit for next year and would be refunded if I decide not to renew. I can also forward my seats to anyone via email.

6. Guaranteed promotional items and media guide. Sold my seats for Oden bobblehead night, but still got one.

7. Guaranteed seats for the playoffs.

As said, not for sure how it works in Atlanta.

Really hope your ownership situation gets settled because your team is definitely on the rise.

I understand your points and do agree with you to a certain extent. I'm now seeing even more deals out there and posted them as a sticky. Also, while I appreciate the yearly offer by Bruce, the same offer was for anyone, so it's not exclusive to Realgm fans like it's been during the past.

There are various benefits to being a season ticket holder including: Invites to special events. Seats are moderately discount although there are several sections/rows that are greatly reduced. I believe these are the Nique Seats ($21 per game for $50 seats in some 200s). Once you lock in that price they've been good about maintaining the rough price level year to year. Not sure about a resell center. Guaranteed playoff seats has never been an issue. We get yearbooks and media guides, and there is the occasional promotional item.

We don't have guaranteed promotional items, but that would really be cool. I rarely miss games, but often miss 1st quarters because of work. As such I can remember the last time I was 1 of the 1st 5000 fans (or whatever is specific to that game).
