If I was a Hawks fan I would rather let him walk, you DON'T want any part of Ricky Davis.

I'm not advocating trading Chil in the 1st place(although I would for a significant upgrade like Artest)...I'm saying that if we are going to trade Chil we can do better than Redick. Trading Chil for a 4th string scrub is a horrible trade. I don't care how bad any one thinks Childress is...he's much better than Redick. Redick rode the bench last year and all the fans blamed the coach...well guess what. The Magic brought in a coach who likes to spread the floor with as much shooters as possible around Dwight yet he is STILL riding the bench. If Redick could play...he would. It's not like he's playing behind good players either. He's playing behind Evans,Dooling,Bogans, etc. All of them are mediocre sg's in the NBA.

I don't think the Chill for Redick suggestion had any supporters outside of tontoz.

HMFFL just brought this old thread back to life because of the new article saying that Redick won't be traded, but he ain't gonna play either.

Sounds like what Shelden is experiencing.

If Chill can't be parlayed into either Artest, Maggette, or Mike Miller or a PG like Andre Miller, Mo Williams, or Mike Bibby then he should not be moved at all and we deal with signing or signing and trading him this summer. It's not like we are realistic free agent movers and shakers anyway. Lesser PGs should not require Chill to acquire just expiring deals.

Which is completely irrelevant. We aren't getting anywhere near equal value if we trade Childress. Maybe we could have if we traded him two years ago but not now.

We will probably just lose him for nothing.

Not including Redick the Magic have 5 players who shoot 36% or better from 3. They are looking to win now so it makes sense for them to play productive vets.

However like the article said 3 of those guys are on expiring deals so they are unlikely to trade Redick.

It's pretty clear Orlando isn't going to trade Mr. Sensitive this season, but even if they would - could any of you really stomach cheering for this douchebag?! It would be like having Laettner back on the team again.

I would have no problem with it if he plays well. However, I'm on record as saying I don't think that's likely. I doubt many would cut him slack if he sitting on the bench all the time.

Redick really was just successful and hated at Duke. Laettner was successful, hated, and a douche bag at Duke.

He sentKeith Bogans to the bench (Dec. 15) and has J.J. Redick thinking about intensifying his trade request.

Bogans has a year left on his contract (player option) and will return unless he's dealt. Used little since arriving as the Magic's first-round pick in 2006, Redick told the Sentinel on Thursday that he would have to press harder for a trade this offseason if his situation doesn't improve. The Magic can pick up the option on his fourth year after the season.

"My future will have to be discussed this summer -- me and [General Manager] Otis [Smith] and Arn [Tellem, Redick's agent]," Redick said.

LOL so far this month Redick has scored 26 pts in 28 minutes. He must be shooting it every time he touches it.
