Josh wasn't in the game at the end... if he was going to put Horford back in, then he should have sat Josh Childress, not Smith.

I would rather he sit Marvin. Chill comes up big on the boards and as we saw earlier, Marvin not so much.

I wouldn't have a problem with that either.

This team won't do crap with AJ and Lue playing the point. There is a reason they are career backups.

Well... AJ has 4 assists out of the 5 in 17 minutes... Lue has 1assist in 28 minutes... Don't bring AJ down with the likes of Lue...

I do have a bias for JSmoove, but it seems like he gets going in the 4th quarter during quite a few games, no? I don't watch enough Hawks games, so I may be off here.

Joe is obviously labouring through another leg injury now, so that's affecting his shooting quite a bit. Woody should take note of that and maybe get the ball to someone else during crunch time. It really hasn't worked with Joe this season.

Maybe JSmoove has another outburst in him this season and unleashes at Woody just enough to have him fear for his own life during a game. Then, Woody decides to give in a bit and get Josh the ball during crunch time for fear of his own life in the locker after the game.

I actually think Woody did a good job coaching. I don't want Lue in at the end of the games but AJ is pretty much a nonfactor despite what the stats say. Lue guarded Eric Snow so there's no we he killed us defensively. Woody took Horford out which nullified their biggest advantage(Illgauskus)and it worked. I'm not a big fan of iso's but Joe needed to step up. If the other team is going to put a 6'3 point guard on him then he has to be ready to make them pay for it.

It was one possession that needed a 3 point attempt. I understand taking Josh out for that 1 play, but if Al was our best sub for a desperation 3 that speaks volumes about our shooters.

But Joe should take it right at Snow. Not a jumper.

Joe did go to the whole once and missed a layup but I'm not making excuses for him. Snow is not easy to take off the dribble but Joe can shoot over him. Woody knew this and that's why he called Joe's number at the end(which he should have). Joe just missed the shots and committed dumb turnovers.

I didn't watch the game so I don't know how Lue does but AJ's a good 3pt shooter also... even better than Lue. It looks like AJ only play 17 minutes and is not playing down the stretch so he can't help but be a nonfactor.

Awesome.

Did I read that correctly when you offered that updated Lakers lineup image. You fixed that?

Yes, that was me. Still getting the hang of animated gifs though. Once I get a better feel for it I might try to do my own lineup cards.

I've got the Houston thread up. I'm so-so on the results, but it's my first attempt so I guess I should be too self-critical. My normal sense of humor is very dark and bawdy, so I have to careful not to stray too far. Probably makes the end result too tame.

With 8 seconds left in the 3rd quarter and the Hawks down 10 Smith came in for Horford and moved to center against Big Z. At first glance this appears to be a dumb move since Big Z is 7'3" and had been owning us (17/11 with 4 blocks) up to that point.

But it didn't work out that way. Smith used his quickness to drive past Z and on the other end he attacked the ball when Big Z tried to dribble. 3 minutes after Smith moved to center Brown pulled Big Z and that is what gave the Hawks a chance to win the game.

So why is it that not one person here other than me doesn't criticize our sacred cow (Horford) for his inexplicable refusal to drive against a big slowfooted player like Big Z?

It appears to be ok to dog Smith for shooting 3s and propose trading Smith for whatever we can get (hello mrh) but apparently it isn't ok to criticize Horford's lack of offense.
