I'm gonna miss TLue

Post#1 » by Jjforprez » Sun Feb 17, 2008 7:17 pm

He was no Jason Kidd.... in fact he often killed the offense with his dribbling out of the shotclock, but he made some big shots for us.

No, he couldn't take our team to the next level, but the guy was loyal to the Hawks....even turning down offers to rejoin the Lakers to stay in the ATL.

Yeah, I'm gonna miss TLue...

Lue was not a bad backup pg so I'm not that happy to see him go. He was overused because the players in front of him were bad players like AJ and Royal Ivey. I think Woody should have used a Lue/Law combo more often because they compliment each other well. AJ ranks much lower as a starting pg than Lue ranks as a backup. AJ was also a non-factor since December while Lue played a critical role in beating Philly,LAL,and he played well vs Cleveland.

He made some big shots, but I will not miss Ty Lue on the defensive end of the court and I will not miss him dribbling away the shot clock.

So true... he was a good backup pg, that was overused. Hey, maybe Sac will release him and we'll do what the Mavs planned to do before Stackhouse let the cat out of the bag!

Poor defender and very selfish at times. I know he was asked to come into the game and start shooting. At times it just hurt the team and he would continue to throw up bricks.

On a positive note: I wish him the best and hope he can find a team during the off-season.

I actually hate seeing Anthony Johnson go and preferred him over Lue any day.

Now that Lue is gone, where gonna have some people missing him when crunch time comes. I will be one of them. I don't think he's gonna be released by the Kings... well, maybe he doesn't get resigned, then we could add him as our 3-string PG next offseason.

Don't expect him to be a buyout. He's a good clubhouse guy and the most expensive of the bunch. AJ is the most likely to be a buyout (lowest contract and greatest chance of being unhappy). However, don't expect anyone to return to us. There are other teams that could use a veteran minimum PG rental.

Well thats the nice thing about Bibby, he can shoot the 3 and isn't scared to take the big shots at the end of games. I looked at Bibby asa combo of AJ and Jue, he can be a game manager and a shot taker.

On Lue, I didn't think he was a selfish player. Just a naturally bad passer who seemed to get worse at running an offense by the year. I'll miss his enthusiasm but I'll have to admint that it got pretty frustrating watching him play in late game situations towards the end.

I will definetely miss T Lue. He was a GREAT locker room presence and nailed big shots. Woody simply played him too much. If he had used him purely as a scoring threat we would have loved him. But he was asked to do too much.
