OT: Candace Parker will skip her senior season

Post#1 » by HMFFL » Thu Feb 21, 2008 5:20 pm

Tennessee forward Candace Parker will skip her senior season to puruse a career in the WNBA and on the Olympic team.

Parker will likely be the top pick in the WNBA draft, which is owned by the Los Angeles Sparks.

Candace get to continue to play close. I know some of you could careless about the WNBA, but I'm curious to see how Candace does, and it's ashame Atlanta can't get her.

I think she would of stayed another year at Tenn if Sheldon was still here, I think shes going west now because she be closer to Sheldon. If she came out this year and Sheldon was still here, She would be in LA and Sheldon would be here in ATL but now Sheldon is in the west, I think it helped her to come out after this season.

it makes sense to me. in europe women players can make over a million dollars a year (last year candace had a reported 3 million dollar offer to play for real madrid or barcelona of the women's league) she already has a campionship and doesn't have much to prove in college (she'll prob get her degree in the future). also this gets her closer to her furture husband and lets her play for a big market team in LA which is something the NBA would love to help promote the league. overall good move on her part.

Skar, I believe that's why she's coming out. It's rather obvious. However, I wish the both of them the best and hope they can balance things.

I think she also is finishing her degree early. At least that's what's they said on ESPN radio.
