He said that "If we had drafted Chris Paul, we never would have had the chance to draft Al Horford and Acie Law."

LOL that is idiotic on so many levels.

First of all we drafted Acie with the Indy pick which we got by trading Al Harrington. I am not seeing the Paul connection there.

Secondly he is basically admitting that the hawks would be better with Paul (hence the Horford comment) while at the same time showing total ignorance of how the lottery works.

Lastly he seems to be implying that Horford + Acie > Paul.

WOW

That's the way of accepting the fact that the entire organization has dropped the ball on so many different levels. Being the major city Atlanta is, I wish the ASG was criticized more often, because they continue to get away with ignorant things like that.

In theory im thinking what he's saying is true...

It is quite possible that have Paul would've made us good enough to 'not get' the third pick therefore it going to phoenix...

How much better is debatable but im assuming we would be better?

I can't say enough about how much I think of Al, but:

Paul > Horford + Law

That's true.

But it doesn't bring anything new and doesn't justify passing on Paul.

Meanwhile, if we search the thing he could want to say... it might be "we would have no pick in 2007 so no Horford, and talking about two players to compare,
it would be Paul+08pick Vs Marvin+Horford (but also add the 06pick change).

Comparing Horford+Law has nothing to do here.
