On the bright side, we didn't play a great game but still didn't get blown out.
On the not-so-bright side, I don't think our coach understands the whole "motivation at half-time" or "adjustments" concepts. We still have terrible half-court sets in the fourth Q. Our positioning in terms of where we put our post players and where we put our perimeter players if fundamentally flawed. Our best scorer doesn't score when we need it. Our best players are a rookie with little offensive game and a 22 year old who doesn't understand shot selection.
At least we know we can now refer to Pachulia as "Zaza's expiring contract". So thats good.
We still have more talent than most of the teams we are going to play from here on out. We are going to need Marv to step up, his D was good for the most part though. Joe has been shooting well lately so I'll let him have a mulligan... the Cs may have just been in his head. Smith showed that he can score when he wants if he takes it strong... unfortunately he didn't do that enough... Woody and co. are going to have to design our offense in a way that he doesn't set up outside. Telling him not to take jumpers won't stop him from doing it if he is always getting the ball at the 3 point line.
Woody needs to trust Bibby.
The rest of the season starts now.
