Everyone on our bench sucks. Woodson giving them a lot of PT earlier in the year would have just cost us games (and it did when he tried to use those guys). The only guy on our bench I want to see out there more is Rio.

I know people say it's impossible to get the six seed. But if there was ever a scenario to make a late run it's now, if we beat Toronto and Phili (both times) we should be a game back of no. 6. I'm not saying that it's going to happen, but that is a legit scenario that could get us into the picture to play Orlando.

And for the first time since the Bibby trade, ATL is not a loosing team. They are now 12-12 with Bibby (not counting the MIA game replay).
It started slow, but it's better ;)

Wow, that was easily Josh Smith's most efficient offensive game ever.

26 points on 11-13 shooting with 6 assists and 0 TOs... and only 1 PF on top of that.

As far as resting the starter/having a **** bench - Zaza and Acie had bad games even by their standards... if just Zaza had been able to play like he has the last 5 games or so it would have been a different story. It is gonna be really ugly when we play that Boston team for a series with our depth problems.

Anyway, feel good game for the starters. On the one hand its not hard to look good against the Griz, on the other hand they are better at home than we are on the road so that's gotta count for something.

It does. It counts as a W. That is all that matters at this point in the season. They beat the teams they were supposed to beat.

Now it gets a little tougher.

By the way, I didn't see the whole game. Who was guarding Smith when he went off? What was the deal with those jump balls at the end?

Josh, I love the enthusiasm but I just don't see us being able to do it unless we sweep Philly here and that is too tough predict.

Philly plays NJ tonight. I am rooting for Philly. I am not holding out any hope for the 7th spot.

Warrick was on Smith a lot. Warrick is athletic but he isn't Josh Smith athletic, and Smith is much stronger.

This team is 6 deep and that is bad news. Childress is the only reliable player off the bench. The good thing is that it is easier to improve bench depth than to improve starters..

We will need Zaza to play consistent and give good minutes if we want to have a chance against any top teams. I think Acie would be better if he wasn't put out there with the ENTIRE 2nd unit most of the time, Bibby would look worse also if he was playing without the starters too. That's not to say that Acie should be given a pass b/c he played horrible last night, but it would make a difference.

We flat out HAVE to get bench production, somehow..

I'm definitely more worried about the prospect of Indy catching us than I am excited about the prospect of catching Philly/T.O.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not expecting this to happen. But someone posted here a few days ago that is basically impossible to bridge a 3-game gap on two teams in such a short time period. If there was ever a time to do that, it's right now. But at this point, every coaching cliche out there is basically true: we need to take this one game a time and just do whatever possible to get every victory we can.

The Toronto game is big, the Pacers are playing the C's that night. If we can get the W then they will have some major problems catching us.

I personally think its too late. to horrible of a job from Woodson all year giving minutes to the bench.

I know you guys are saying they are horrible and what not, but look at EVERY winning team.

Are you telling me there is that much of a falloff in talent between Ryan Bowen and Rasul Butler when compared to Salim Stoudimire and Solomon Jones?

If you play guys consistantly, alot of nights they are going to give you something needed to win. leave them on the bench, they get game cold(practice is nothing compared to real game time, no matter what you think), the starters are going to get worn out, and that once a month you end up playing the bench they are going to look like a bunch of scared rookies because they will be afriad to make a mistake.

Right now, you are just going to have to ride the bench. Go 8 deep(keep Acie in the rotation. Its his first BAD game since he came back from injury honestly and Zaza is a game by game basis. Its his first BAD game in a while too).

There is no point in playing anyone else now. That chance has come and gone.
