So the Hawks need to win 3 of their last 4

Post#1 » by Jjforprez » Wed Apr 9, 2008 3:26 am

I believe that's what they reported during the post-game tonight. This will avoid any possible ties in the standings....this ain't gonna be easy.

Can you imagine how much they'll dog the Hawks if we blow this?? We'll be right back to being the butt of all jokes! And we were finally getting some positive pub!!

That is assuming Indy is going to win all 4. If Indy wins out then they deserve it. If the Hawks lose to the Knicks or Heat then they don't deserve it. There is actually a better chance of the Hawks beating Boston/Orlando at home then there is that the Pacers beat Philly/Washington on the road. The Hawks are playing 4 teams who literally have nothing to play for in terms of playoff positioning. I'm not saying that Boston/Orlando will lay down but it's better to play them now as opposed to playing them 2-3 months ago.

I know but... nah, there's no way it all lines up for the Hawks to lose this right? I want them to get in so the Suns don't get a lottery pick as much as for the sake of them getting in.

Who holds the tie breaker? cant find it. If indy lose one one game and we split our games and beat knicks and heat (which we should do) we will be going to the ship.

I think the Hawks could lose it if they blow the game vs the Knicks....but the Hawks are just as likely to beat the Magic as they are to lose to the Knicks.

I just think that looking at Indiana's schedule...it just screams 2-2. They are 0-7 against above 500 teams since the beggining of March and 11-1 against below 500 teams in that same period. They are not likely to win at Washington or Philly let alone both.

The Hawks would have to pull off the chokejob of all chokejobs to not make the playoffs. They are 6-0 against Miami/New York(now both are forced to play huge scrubs due to injuries) and we have always matched up well with the Magic. I think the Hawks will go 2-2 as well.

what's wrong with acie? a bench of zaza, salim and childress might be the worst defensive bench in the nba.

if the pacers win out and the hawks lose any 2 of their remaining 4 games they are out. Magic number is 3...indy loses 1 and atlanta wins 2 the hawks go...indy loses 2 the hawks win 1 then the hawks go. But if they only win 2 more games and the pacers don't lose...they don't go
I got a question why they hating on me....

2-2 means if pacers win all 4 you miss the playoffs cause you end up tied with indy and head to head they own the tie breaker...

Yeah, if the Pacers can rip off this 7 game win streak and we only take 2 of the next four games - give it to'em. Philly and Washington are still battling so they aren't going to lay down.

At the end of the day I still have very little confidence in the Hawks. Of course, if I were from Indiana (makes me shudder...), I'd probably have the same sentiments about the Pacers right now.

We are still in control of this thing. This is where leadership comes into play, we have a young team that might have lost some confidence after last night. But someone needs to make this team realize that they are still very much in control of their destiny, and a win in NYK just brings us one step closer.
