NBA Playoff Schedule

Post#1 » by evildallas » Thu Apr 17, 2008 7:48 am

I was wrong on my guess about the Game 3 and Game 4 dates being Thursday and Saturday. They will be Saturday and Monday.

( 1 ) Boston Celtics vs. ( 8 ) Atlanta Hawks:

Game 1 - Sun April 20 Atlanta at Boston 8:30PM ET TNT
Game 2 - Wed April 23 Atlanta at Boston 8:00PM ET TNT
Game 3 - Sat April 26 Boston at Atlanta 8:00PM ET ESPN/R
Game 4 - Mon April 28 Boston at Atlanta 8:00PM ET TNT
Game 5 * Wed April 30 Atlanta at Boston TBD TBD
Game 6 * Fri May 2 Boston at Atlanta TBD TBD
Game 7 * Sun May 4 Atlanta at Boston TBD TBD

The extra long breaks between games 1 and 2 and 2 and 3 might help our inexperienced team deal with the result of game 1. Of course, our inexperienced staff probably won't make best use of the time so it is probably moot.

This schedule actually helps the Hawks....rather than hurt them.

So, essentially it's playing a game every three days.

Plenty of time to right a ship if it strays of course Woody!! Aint no new hairstyle...or lack thereof....will do that! Be a HC for once in your lifetime and make the adjustments necessary to win.

You really need to go into Boston and TRY.....TRY to steal game one. To at least make it a series.

There's a much better chance that they win game 2 than one(although neither is remotely likely). Boston is going to be pumped for game 1 and it's probably going to be unlike anything the young Hawks have experienced. You will likely see the Hawks play better and more under control in game 2 as they will get used to the crowd and they will know what to expect. There is also the chance that Boston would play with a little more comfort with a 1-0 lead(although that is not likely either). Games 3-4 should be exciting based on what I saw in the 1st 3 quarters of the last game.

The Hawks on TNT? If anything, making the playoff was good since we finally get some national coverage!

Can't wait to see the hawks in HD too!

A little bit long wait between game 1 and 2... but hey, the Hawks will finally be on TNT. Can't wait to see Barkely reaction.

Back when we naively were discussing if we could move up to #6 or #7, I suspected the exposure is better playing Boston. Detroit/Philly is subjected to some NBA TV time which is what would have happened had we got to #7. Orlando/Toronto also has a game on NBA TV.

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with NBA TV, it just doesn't have the reach of one of the other networks.

^^^ Yup, I really wanted Boston for that reason. Playing the C's means primetime/national TV every game. If we make a series of this the Hawks Bandwagon is going to have more members than the GSW one last year.

I love that we got at least 3 TNT games. I have been wanting to see that for a long time.

No they won't be. SportSouth or FSN won't have any games unless we are on NBA TV, which isn't going ot happen because Boston is getting all the coverage nationaly.
