Here are the players we have under contract for next season.

Al Horford 4.0
Acie Law IV 2.1
Joe Johnson 14.2
Speedy Claxton 5.8
Mike Bibby 14.5
Marvin Williams 5.6
Zaza Pachulia 4.0
Solomon Jones 0.8

That is $51 million right there. Now i would like you to explain how the Hawks could resign both Smith and Chill AND sign Diop while staying under the luxury tax.

Don't forget that BK has said the Hawks plan to bring Andersen over next season.

The question isn't whether I would take Mobley over Chil. The question is can you sign both Chil and Diop w/o getting rid of Speedy. The answer is no. Therefore is some one is dumb enough to take a crippled pg with 2 year left on his deal and a useless backup center(both take up space)for a useful player than I jump on it. For this team....yes I'd rather have Mobley and Diop coming off the bench than Chil and Zaza.

Keep in mind that you were also against trading expirings+Shelden for Andre Miller in December UGA.

As a Clippers fan, I would propose Mobley/Knight for Claxton/Zaza. I know the Hawks would be getting a better deal talent-wise, but the Clippers would probably also like to do this deal to save money. It's good for the Hawks, especially since they are finally a playoff team.
