Positives

Post#1 » by JoshB914 » Mon Apr 21, 2008 7:41 pm

I feel like when Woody and the coaching staff go over the game tape, they will see we did some nice things. But we need to try and do them more consistently.

1) We played well defensively. Our problem was we let them go on that big run in the first quarter, after that our defense was quite good until the game was all but over in the fourth.

2) We were able to get into transition and run a little. We made a nice run and pulled within 29-27 in the 2nd quarter. We need to break down what we did during that spurt and try to bring that side out of us on a more consistent basis.

3) Al Horford. I really like that we are running plays for him. He is producing when he gets the basketball.

We just came out with jitters in game 1 and got down big, and we were fighting uphill the entire game. You can't do that against the C's and you could tell we wore down. You've also got to think that the shots will start falling for JJ next time around. I think we'll see a much more competitive game on Wednesday.

If you've got any more positives to add to the list please share.

The D was bad to me, too many made 3's when we couldn't make any. I was proud of Al for not being overwhelmed unlike the others.
Where the offseason has more buzz happens.

I love Al's production but I don't think we really ran many plays for him. He collected 7 offensive rebounds which accounted for a big chunk of his production.

Chil did better than I expected of him on defense. Smith was blocking shots fairly consistently before he got benched, although he was a little lost of offense. Al was great of offense, although he was a little lost on defense. Joe looked like he had a case of the jitters but he can definitely have his way with Ray Allen if guys start hitting their jumpers. Bibby can't play worse than he did so that is a positive.

We need to stick with whatever is working instead of going away from it. If Al is scoring in the post give him the ball or if Marvin's shot is falling let him shoot.

woody's solution to what works is to take that guy out of the game.If Marvin is hot,he's pulled etc.unless it's Joe or Bibby.

Defensively i think they did a good job on the Big 3. i still get aggravated though seeing guys, notably Bibby, going under the screen against a shooter.

I didn't see many plays run for horford. I think we missed a lot of shots and he went to work on the glass. Plus JJ found him a few times when the D collapsed on JJ.

I don't think we ran enough. Bibby doesn't seem to push the ball up much. Actually he isn't doing much of anything right now.

Al Horford.

Even my sister said Bibby couldnt defend. If hes not scoring hes **** useless. I want to see woodson throw more looks with mario west on the floor for like 3 minute spurts just to get under pierce, allen's skin.
