Marvin is averaging under 40% from the field, only at 3.4 rpg, and getting 2.2 TOs to Chilz's .40 TOs per game.

If there was one word to describe Marvin's game it would be lethargic. And I'm saying this despite liking the guy and obviously hoping he can still turn it around and become a factor for our team one day that justifies him being a lotto pick, much less a #2 overall selection.

You have got to be kidding

No i am not kidding. Childress is averaging 5.8 ppg in 30 minutes which sucks.

It doesnt much matter what your shooting percentage is when you are scoring 5.8 ppg in 30 minutes. Even if it was 70% it would still suck.

He is doing the Zaza thing of rebounding his own misses/blocks. He is averaging only 3 defensive rebounds so i can't give him much credit for hitting the boards.

As bad as Marvin has been he is averaging almost twice as many points as Childress.

Chillz is a role player. When we play 66-win teams he is not going to be a factor consistently. The onus is on our big time guys to play well, when they play well Chillz plays better.

Marvin is asked to do and should do more than Chillz because he has more skills. But for whatever reason he can't figure out how to use them. He's missing WIDE OPEN jump shots, gets completely out of control driving to the basket, and falls asleep on defense.

I hate to criticize him too much because he is clearly outmatched, but it is inexcusable to miss so many opportunities in the playoffs. He is not a threat whatsoever and the Celtics have realized that. They look more concerned with leaving Smoove wide open for a jumper than Marv, that's how terrible he has been.

Sorry, but I think I'd take the more efficient scorer over the under 40% one any time. Chilz def hasn't had a steller series either, save for a few spurts, but he hustles, rebounds (not just his own and you know that..had some key boards in the 2 Ws), plays decent D, and runs the floor well. Marvin was seriously painful to watch last night. Even his made shots made me cringe.

You can be critical of Chil but to compare how he get's his offensive rebounds to Zaza is ridiculous.

Childress got his shot blocked 4 times last night. That looked like vintage Zaza to me.

Marvin is shooting 39.5%. That isn't very good but it isn't in Bibby territory.

I guess you would take a guy scoring 3 ppg shooting 70% over Childress, right?

^^^ I felt like we knew that already. And Bibby played like that for us during the regular season. He was always playing hurt but played through it, provided excellent leadership, and played decent offensively but inconsistent shooting.

He's at another level of bad this series, one that is far worse than what that poster indicated.

No he had him spot on. But anyone who thought we were getting a great PG in Bibby would have been crazy. He's an above average overall PG who plays in streaks. Which is a huge upgrade from Lue/AJ.

A lot of the people in that thread appeared to expect too much from Bibby because of his name. But he has been well past his prime for over two years imo.
