This weekend I've seen rumors that Larry Brown is pushing for Billy King to get the GM post here in Atlanta. I don't know the nature of what has occurred. It may just be a rumor or it is possible that the ASG contacted Larry Brown for as a reference for Billy King. If it is more than that for instance if Larry Brown initiated contact, then I think it is a violation. Most everyone here knows my feelings about Larry Brown, so maybe I'm not being objective. Doesn't the coach of a divisional rival attempting to influence hiring of key personnel at a rival team smack of conflict of interest?
For Larry Brown to be successful at Charlotte it seems like he would have to outperform Atlanta. That should be enough for the ASG to ignore any suggestion he might make, but you never know with these guys. Just in case the league might need to remind Larry Brown that there are certain things a coach shouldn't do (like try to influence the GM and coaching hirings of the nearest competitor).

This is hilarious. Hopefully the ASG isn't dumb enough to let a rival head coach influence their decision on who to hire. I also see that King went to Duke of all schools. I'm sure he's just trying to help out an old "friend" but it seems a little weird since Brown basically quit on King as Sixers coach and was the vice president at the time he was fired 6 months ago. You never know with Larry Brown...

The friend he's supposedly trying to help is Woodson since a King hiring would most likely mean Woodson being retained.
FYI, Billy King is the player who made the floor slap on defense famous at Duke. He was a 6'6" defensive specialist from 85-88 which means he was a teammate of Cleveland GM Danny Ferry. It's strange that he's known as a friend of Larry Brown who is big in the UNC tree.
Although I'm a big Duke fan, I don't like the idea of King coming here at all. Give me the guy from San Antonio (Lindsay) and a new head coach to go with him.
