We were a decent offensive team in 06 but when you are a bottom 4 defensive team, doesn't really matter.
Woody gets credit for being a good defensive coach because our offense is so ugly and he talks about defense a lot and he gets credit for being a good "developmental" coach because he coaches young players who are bound to improve by physical maturation alone (although all the young role players regress under him and the focal point-players don't seem to gain any greater understanding of the finer points of the game). I have yet to see an aspect of coaching that Woodson excels at... at least Sam Mitchell can motivate his players even if he is a dolt as a strategist and in game tactician.
EDIT: I know you don't think Woody is a "good" coach, but you a) refuse to acknowledge that he is "bad" and b) refuse to acknowledge that coaching matters even as elite teams routinely pay their coaches more than a couple of their starters.
