We did beat the Lakers in the only game we played them after they acquired Gasol.

Huh? They blew us out the second time we played them with Gasol.

In the first game which we won Kobe had hurt his finger the night before and couldn't buy a basket, finishing 4-16.

Bryant's pinkie finger on his right hand was dislocated in Tuesday night's win at New Jersey. After showing in shooting practice Wednesday he could play with the injury, he logged 37 minutes with the finger taped to the ring finger.

"It is what it is," said Bryant, who said the finger was "very swollen."

Pau is one of the most overrated players in the NBA. He is very soft and can't deal with a big who has any strength, look what Kendrick Perkins did to him, and he would have a hard time guarding Josh or Al.

NBA is such a "what have you done for me lately" type of league.

After last season you had people saying that defending Dirk was easy because all you had to do was stick a smaller player on him and they'd shut him down. Kobe Bryant was the "best player of since MJ" (by the way, anyone who actually thought that should be banned from talking - I can't believe people considered Mark Jackson for a HC position) and after Tues night he was just a luckier version of VC.

Gasol would have a hard time guarding Smith, sure, but so did KG. Fact of the matter is that the Lakers were an exceedingly average team after Bynum went out and before he got there and they were arguably the second best team in the league once he showed up.

I totally agree that Gasol is ovverated. But let's remember that Horford only averged 10 PPG this year, Gasol would still win that matchup right now.

who would be on Gasol, Smith or Horford?..... but anyway, Gasol at his best is not near KG at his worst.

I would think Horford would guard Pau and Josh would guard Lamar.
