11. Josh Smith – taken 17th in 2004
One of the most athletic and fun-to-watch players in the NBA, Smith has gotten better every year he's been in the league. His numbers have gone up almost across the board every year, finishing last season at 17.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and 2.8 blocks per game, and he's developed into a great complimentary player next to Joe Johnson (and Mike Bibby, who the Hawks will have for a full season). The scary part? Smith is still only 22 years old and figuring out how to refine and harness all of his athletic gifts.
By definition value picks mean that someone passed on them when they shouldn't have. So it is no surprise that we (well, BK) contributed to a couple of the higher ranking lottery picks on the list.
