A trade for Iverson is one I would consider, but if we don't have to give too many pieces.
Added to Bibby could be Zaza since they would want a big with Camby gone for nothing. But we would have to find another big in this case.
Regarding Marvin, I'd not trade him before seeing if he really improved this summer.

Hunter would be the replacement big- his skillset would actually be useful to the Hawks.

The working deal with the minimum to give and the two teams changing PG and a big is:
Bibby+Zaza+Solomon
for
Iverson+Hunter
Both Bibby and Iverson are expiring, with Iverson future contract certainly being higher than Bibby's one...
Problem with Hunter being that without Zaza, he would have a major role behind Al, and he can't hit half the FT's he gets. I don't like it too much for guy supposed to be our first backup for C/PF positions.

Iverson will get paid more next year because he is an allstar caliber player where Bibby has regressed 3 years in a row and its not even clear he will be a starter for a playoff team next year.
Of course the real question is whether Atlanta would be able to sign Iverson when he hits FA. I think that Iverson is one of the few players that the ASG would open up the pocketbook for because he would absolutely own this town.

I agree. I've been wary of A.I. in the past, but it seems like he can produce the assists we would need from the PG position. I just hope that we wouldn't re-sign him to too long of a contract, given his age. Alot of people on this board shot down the idea of a trade for Ron Artest because they saw his age as a concern. (I didn't.) In those scenarios though, we were looking to trade Marv. I like the idea of building a trade around the core of A.I. + Hunter and Bibby+Zaza. Of course in addition to that, I think they are going to want Law and/or a 1st round pick. They may actually want both if we aren't willing to relieve them of a contract like K-Mart's . . . and I would hope that we aren't.
A.I. can still push the ball with a lot of energy on the fast break and shouldn't be out dated in our slow-it-down coaching philosphy as he ages and loses some speed. I like Hunter too. He is a great shotblocker with decent size, and that's exactly what we need. I don't care if a bench player can't hit free throws if he's fulling our most pressing need.

I think Denver would want something like this if we aren't going to take back a big contract like K-Mart's or Nene's:
Trade I.D. #4753053
A.I. + Hunter + Chucky Atkins
for
Bibby+Zaza+Law+Speedy+Solo+09 1st Rounder
From our point of view, we give them Law and a first rounder to spark their rebuilding process, but we pawn off Speedy on them too. We get Chucky as a second point guard to replace Law.
Denver gets the 2 pieces they need to rebuild, and two bigs to temporarily help replace Camby and Hunter.
I just hate to give up both Law and a 1st rounder for an aging star that only has one year on his contract.

I don't know Rod; you are sending 3 of our PGs to Denver and I would be they don't need 3 of them.
That leaves us with AI at PG, Charles and Ronald. Veteran leadership for sure, but does AI exist well with JJ?
