OT: NBATV's Now in ATL (nba.com, too)

Post#1 » by lethalweapon3 » Sat Oct 18, 2008 10:20 pm

Y'all probably knew already, but I saw that the D-League draft is being held on November 7 "at the NBA TV studio in Atlanta." I was like, "WHAT NBA TV Studio in Atlanta????"

With the start of the NBA season just weeks away, Turner Broadcasting System Inc. is rolling out a new marketing campaign for its National Basketball Association online and TV properties: NBA.com, NBA TV, and NBA Season Pass.

Since the announcement in January that Turner would take over the management of the NBA’s digital properties, which also include WNBA.com and the Web site for the NBA’s Development League, the NBA has moved 200 jobs to Atlanta, seven of which are on the marketing side.

“We’re excited to build this in Atlanta and to reach out to the Atlanta community,” Storms said.

You mean now I can just walk on over to Techwood Drive to complain about those awful rat/roach commercials and Pancake Puff ads? Man, who knew? That also answered my question of why new commentator Eric Snow's wife stars on "Real Housewives of Atlanta." Hopefully nobody had to move all the way down here from Secaucas just to get laid off months later..

Anybody know, will the NBDL Draft be open to the public? I just wanna be there live to see some dude's granmama in her three-tiered church hat bust out in tears 'cause her baby's headin' to Bakersfield. Maybe even get to heckle Rick Kamla or something...

The set didn't take long to put up, maybe two weeks, and it's beautiful.

Was watching Aldridge 'n Snow do the Magic/Cats preview just now and yeah, that set is wayyyy better than that wood-panel mess they had up in Jersey.

Hoping Mad Dog Carter relocates down here during the season, too.

The two basketball sets are the only two sets that are fixtures at the studio. The TNT set looks good, but TV makes it appear even nicer, but the NBATV set doesn't need TV to make it look stunning. Just positives all around with the new jobs it creates and the fact that all types of sports are being taped here.
