Acie showed promise and made nice plays last year. Even when he would have a bad game he would make some plays that made me believe he could still be a starting PG eventually.

But, this season he has flat sucked, no other way to put it. That sucks too because he had a solid preseason and shot the ball well, even from 3pt. He just plays with no confidence at all for whatever reason.

Law had flashes last year, but he hasn't shown anything so far this season. He was coldblooded at A&M, I didn't expect him to play so scared.

Personally, I think that the Bibby negotiations are more based on how much he seems to have left and what price he is willing to come down to. If Acie Law is determined to be a flop or not developing fast enough it could affect the 2009 draft pick. I thought we would go big, but if Acie isn't cutting it a late round PG like Ty Lawson, Darren Collison, Eric Maynor, or (please) Patrick Mills might be the choice.

Like it or not, Bibby is a real difference maker for this team. He is streaky and always has been, we knew what we were getting when we traded for him. Even when he's off though, he's a decent point guard in terms of pacing (no Steve Nash or anything, but he's a point guard) which is more that I can say for a guy like Felton who gets into the habit of over-pounding the rock.

If Bibby is re-signed, it will be in FA. There is no way in hell we extend him for the salary he currently makes. Sund should just have a backup plan in mind in case some other team jumps in and offers a major contract because they think Bibby is the missing peice or he was miscast here.

As far as Acie, send him to the D-League, its made for a guy with some ability but no confidence. If he starts hitting that long 2 consistently, bring him back and give him a shot - otherwise I feel like he is a throw in with Zaza's contract for a team trying to dump a moderately talente player but not wanting to look like they are doing a straight dump ("we got this guy who was awesome in college!").

We need to consider all of our options if we have the money and if the ASG are willing to spend. We obviously need to focus on Marvin Williams during the off-season, but will have a couple options at the one, and I hope we look at all of them.

I have no problem bringing Mike Bibby back at the right price.

Other options:

Jason Kidd
Allen Iverson
Andre Miller

For the money and the team it's probably best to stick with Mike Bibby. The last thing we need to do is hurt the chemistry of the team. Acie Law still needs to prove himself and show up at some point during the future. We need a sign that he has the potential to be the starting one of the future.

its still kinda early, but Id agree it doesnt seem like Acie will be a starter caliber type player. but hopefully he will shine soon. and I want Bibby back, He has been playing great for us so far. Of course, we cant pay him the same amount of $$ but I think we should try to get him back on the roster. He is still a legit starter and unless we know we can get someone else to fill his place, we cant let him walk. Even if Acie was playing well, Id still want Bibby on the team. He has alot of experience and thats good because we are gonna need that down the stretch. The only way I see justifying dropping Bibby is if he wants too much money or Acie becomes more than a starter caliber player, but a almost all-star or all-star type player all of a sudden, and that wont happen.
thats just my thoughts though.

no he's not,if Acie wasn't playing like crap he would be then we could rely on that tandem but while Acie is looking like crap, we can't trade Bibby because Flip is no starter, not at PG.

True. I only caught the 2nd half, but he and Mo Evans were the only two guys out there playing with any pride at all. Acie was great from what I saw. That's the kind of effort he's got to show if he wants to see more playing team. His energy changed the whole flow of the game (even though we lost).

On the flip side of that - Joe Johnson's body language when we're struggling is just AWFUL. He looks like he's pouting. I wish his leadership matched up with his talent. I wish the passion that Josh Smith, Mo Evans, and Al Horford always play with would rub off on JJ and the rest of the team.

JJ's body language isn't the reason we were outscored 56-28 in the paint. JJ dropped 25, going 5-7 from 3.

But when Rasho and Foster combine for 33 pts you know your bigs suck ass.

Seriously- if Horford and Smith play a combined 7 minutes if the Hawks managed to pull out a victory the other team should be the one blaming the best player or the coach. If Solomon Jones and Zaza are your starting PF and Center then you are starting in a massive hole and there is only so much you can do.
