That is a poor example. Sund would already know Childress' contract demads because he heard them during the previous summer.

You think at the trade deadline this season the Hawks would be barred from talking to Marvin's agent about what it woudl take to resign him? He has outplayed his season from last year and his salary demands would have changed. Of course they are allowed to talk to their own players about salary issues.

If you talk to someone else's player about contract issues your team is charged with tampering. What do you think that you are charged with if you talk to your own player about contract issues?
