Hawks Blazers Talked Trade?

Off the Wiretap..

The Blazers have been active on several trade fronts, including discussions earlier this season with the Atlanta Hawks that would’ve included a package for point guard Mike Bibby. Those talks died when the Hawks started the season with five straight victories.

Wonder what this was about..

the blazers have a nice expiring in lafrenz. i could have seen this trade happen if we started off badly,

lafrenz, frye, rodriguez

for

bibby gardener (thrown in for cap purposes)

frye and rodriguez are spare parts that portland wasn't using at the time and portland has known for a while that rodriguez was ready to leave. frye would count to their cap next offseason so that would help them out also.

for atlanta, rodriguez would battle law for the point gaurd job and frye would take jones spot on the depth chart.

but now that we are winning however, i don't see this trade happening.
