Where would we be...

Post#1 » by JoshB914 » Sun Jan 25, 2009 6:36 pm

Without Mike Bibby? If we were running out the same mish-mash of PG as year's past, this is a drastically different team.

Personally, I think we're fighting for the playoffs rather than homecourt without Mike. His leadership has made us more consistent and confident, his distribution has made our offense so much more efficient, and his shooting ability has allowed us to spread the floor like we never could before. Those are only a few of the things that he has provided for us, and they have transformed the team since he's gotten here.

What do you guys think?

Agreed, an adequate PG is ESSENTIAL for a teams success, unless you have a hall of fame roster. However, if we lost JJ or Smith we'd also be fighting for a spot. But, we had a good roster all along but BK just refused to get a good PG in here. Now that he has we see how good we were. I just hope we continue to run the P&R with Bibby, that's been his bread and butter his entire career.

I'm not even sure we are in the playoff picture without him. He gives us that dangerous threat that sneaks up on people. Everyone knows about JJ and Smith, then Mike will sneak up and devastate some teams. He also gives us range and the ability to hit the open 3.

With Lue and AJ, we aren't anywhere near the 8th seed.

Mike knows the system, fits well with Joe, the team, and the good vibes need to continue for a few more years with him running the point on this team. I'm not expecting players like ZaZa to be back because I fully expect the ASG to do what's needed and bring Mike Bibby back. That would include Marvin depending on what amount will need to match.
