If Phoenix are looking for that kind of value then they might as well stop shopping Amare. He's not worth anywhere close to that.

I would trade Smith for Bosh (assuming Bosh would agree to resign) but i would have a hard time trading him for Amare. Amare's diva rep, lack of rebounding and defense definitely raise some doubts.

I'm a Suns fan before I'm a Amare fan but one of the reason why he's not rebounding as much as he should ,is because he's competing with Shaq for rebounds. Also, Amare is guarding most players who play on the wing and he's usually around the free throw line and out of position. Plus Amare is not the problem in Phx, it's Terry Porter. I hope that they don't trade Amare but our GM can't fire a coach that was hire about 8 months ago.

I think the Suns can do something like this:

A lot of teams are approaching trade scenarios based on financial reasons only. The ASG aren't known for deep pockets so trading off ending contracts for some balloon payments is very unlikely regardless if better talent comes this way. As such it is hard to see them as buyers.

Even if ownership was rolling in money, the team doesn't have the right resources to be a buyer given what's available. The expiring contracts of any size are for key members of the rotation unlike Portland who has Raef LaFrentz on the shelf or Cleveland with Eric Snow on the shelf and Wally S. being on the edge of the rotation.

On the original trade idea . . . buyer beware on Shaq. He's resurgent now, but the Phoenix training staff are miracle workers. A new location might find Shaq dropping off quickly back to his health levels at the end in Miami. Nash is fun player to watch, but is he playing any better this year than Bibby? Does the offense need to totally change for him to be truly successful?
