Smith blocking a critical shot and then beating everyone else down the court for an alley oop? Haven't seen that in a while.

Its beautiful to finally see Joshs presence on defense actually felt.
Is it to much to ask for a team that plays hard and cares? Seems so.

Huge win. Good thing JJ was hot because everyone else was cold. They won with defense which is a welcome change.

The Hawks are playing like they were when they were 6-0. The Hawks are an extremely dangerous team when Joe is playing well and the team is committed to rebounding and defending.

Is any one watching the Miami Chicago game? Chicago is winning with 40 seconds left despite getting robbed on just about every call. Ben Gordon has been ridiculous. This is a huge game for Miami because they don't have many home games left and this is probably their easiest game left. It would be a huge lift for the Hawks chances at the 4th seed if we were able to beat a red hot NO team while Miami lost at home to a 10-23 road team.

Wade hit a 3 to send into OT. I can't imagine he's going to allow his team to a mediocre team in OT now.

Quick Notes:

Josh Smith still sucks.
Flip Murray shouldnt be seen w/o a headband.
We swept the Hornets (kind of cheap I know).

Wade just "choked" at the foul line up 2 with a chance to ice the game...he missed both then the Bulls came down court and tied it. I would say that there's a good chance he's either going to hit the game winner or hit the game winning free throws in these last 3 seconds. Either way the Heat have got some serious help from the refs and a monster game from Wade yet they can't put away a bad Chicago team.

Wade missed an uncontested reverse open layup to end it. I don't know why he didn't just dunk it.

Double OT.

Wade just stole the ball took it full court and hit a running jumpshot while the Bulls were trying to take the last shot. Good lord he is a beast.

It was definitely one of the best games I've seen this season. Games like that frustrate me. Miami didn't play a good game at all but Wade is just so damn good that they won any way. They won a game last week vs New York like that. That's why I will continue saying that I would rather take my chances with Detroit in the playoffs (although I think the Hawks would beat both) even though Miami's 2-12 is extremely weak.

What do yall think about the Jazz game now? We just beat the second hottest team in the league, and now are gonna face the hottest team. The Hawks havent won many big games like this, so im not sure they know how to handle this. I assume Marvin will still be out?! (How long?) Hopefully Acie can contribute like he did tonight.

99% chance the hawks get crushed by the jazz. i don't think we've beaten them yet under woodson. i don't even think sloan gameplans for us anymore. he just uses the one he made back in 2005 and still beats us by 20+

We actually beat them last year with AJ. They have won 14 out of 15 but do you realize that 11 of the Jazz wins during this stretch have been at home? The other 3 were against Toronto,Minny, and Sac. Their one loss was at Golden State...a team(like the Hawks)that is vastly superior at home. Utah is actually an awful road team.

I wish people would quit saying the Hawks are going to get crushed at home all the time. They beat the champs all 3 times at home in the playoffs and have come within a play or two of beating every good team we've played at home this season. The only games the Hawks have been "crushed" at Phillips were against bad teams where they obviously didn't give a crap. I really hope the Jazz have the same mindset of just walking into Phillips and crushing us. Our home record is significantly better than their road record which means we have a realistic chance at winning.

13 points, 13 rebounds. You are incorrect, sir. Great game by Josh. (he is mildly brain-damaged, I will give you that...)

The good thing is Utah will be playing Indiana tomorrow night, so that should be a high scoring affair, and one that should wear on some of the Utah players. Carlos Boozer is expected to play against Indy and maybe his ankle swells up afterwards.

When we play defense we win. We came to play tonight and executed on D and shut down a red hot Hornets team for the final three quarters. A lot of props to Woody tonight, he actually made some decent adjustments for once and it showed in our play after the first quarter.

Josh Smith has been making his presence felt since Woody and him got into it. Offensively he is still making mistakes but that is how he's always been. But on the defensive end he's coming to play again and it's making a world of difference. I have no problem with Josh having a bad shooting game every three or four games if he can continue to bring the intensity that makes him one of the best defenders in the league.

We also saw what Joe can do when he isn't seeing constant doubles. I don't know why they did it, but NO went against conventional wisdom and played him straight up. That didn't work very well.

Agreed. Some other things about this game.

1. It was nice to see Law do something, he brought some energy.
2. I missed Marvin everytime I saw Smith taking a jump shot.
3. I like R. Butler's game.
4. Isn't it amazing that even when Horford plays bad (offensively), he still helps this team a lot, different than other guys?
5. J. Sloan will double/triple JJ after watching this game's tape. There's a reason why some coaches are in their position for like 20+ years.
GO HAWKS.
