Salim Stoudamire Hanging On To The NBA

Post#41 » by HMFFL » Tue Apr 7, 2009 6:56 pm

Salim Stoudamire thinks he has found a great fit with the Milwaukee Bucks. The 6-foot-1 guard is eager to resume a once-promising pro career, after being sidetracked in Atlanta and again last fall when he suffered separate groin injuries in the San Antonio Spurs' training camp. Stoudamire has been out of basketball this entire season, an extreme hardship for a guy who once shot baskets hour after hour in his back yard in Beaverton, Ore. "It's probably one of the worst feelings in the world," Stoudamire said of not being able to play. "Some mornings I wake up crying. But that's just passion. "Definitely, other teams (were interested), but I thought this would be a good fit. I can definitely help this team, and I'm just excited to get going." http://www.jsonline.com/sports/bucks/42564892.html

Salim won't have many more chances at the NBA level if he doesn't change the way he plays.

Salim signing with the Bucks was why I bumped his Free Agency thread. I don't understand the move for the Bucks actually. You figure they'll have Redd, Ridnour, and Bell under contract and have Sessions to resign. Does that mean that they signed Salim as their 5th guard? I guess the Bucks just love former Hawks guards.

NP. Seemed more poignant than a new thread for such a late signing.
