Not to get bogged down in the details but we didn't improve by 10 wins nor had it been a full decade since we'd made the playoffs.

To be fair, we won 7 more games the year that we got Horford.

I'm not saying that the Al/Zaza unit isn't more effective than the Zaza/Batista unit. I'm saying that you don't have to make things up to prove that. That being said, I wouldn't attribute our 7 game improvement to 37 wins entirely to Al just as I wouldn't attribute our improvement this year entirely to Flip. Don't forget that we also added Bibby, Joe played almost all of our games instead of less than 60 like the year before, Josh experienced his best season as a pro, etc.

Al has been a solid addition and he still has room for growth, but we aren't talking about trading a young Tim Duncan. As I said, i'd probably veto this trade but I also think that its helpful to evaluate trades with a realistic eye.

^^^^Maybe it woudl be helpful to post what we think Al is capable of at the peak of his career.

18pts (I've been impressed with the development of his jump hook, and I think his inside game will continue to develop to compliment how well he moves without the ball on a fast break)
11 rebounds
1.5 blocks
1.0 steals
3 assists

I'd be surprised if he ever averages 15, let alone 18 for us or anyone else.

A 3 season average:
14.5PPG
10.5RPG
1.5BPG
1SPG
3APG
52%

I think he'll be an above average defender too... and those are great numbers (if he reaches them), but they aren't so great that I'd never trade the kid. Especially if people think he can't play C.
