Also I hate ABC timing rules. Longer timeouts and half.

Yo, Evil, how is the crowd? It sounds loud on TV.

Sorry, always hard for me to respond during games because I pick my spots and sometimes have trouble reading all the posts. Crowd was loud and consistent in spite of there being some empty spots around the arena. Props to all the fans for bringing good energy and making the arena hostile to the Heat.

Was a little worried at the start of the 2nd half. Between the longer delay and the sizable lead, the chants weren't as robust (especially on offense). Luckily enough people keep up the chants until everyone got back to their seats and some action occurred. I confess I even tried to start a defense chant with the subs in near the end, but it didn't get traction. They got it down to 12 and I didn't want to take a chance.

There were some people from Miami who flew in with those little clappers. Damn those things are annoying. Doesn't take many of them to get heard. We used to use them at Arena Football games before we switched to full blown maracas. (I miss arena football). It did explain the clicking noise on the broadcast Friday though. Like I said freaking annoying.

Bibby was MVP of the series.
Joe was player of the game.
If Josh played like that every game he'd be worthy of being an all-star. I appreciated his lack of whining about calls. You can tell he was making a conscious effort. I think the most complaining he did all day was a bogus foul call on Al. His behavior was important and it set the tone for the whole team.
Zaza and Flip were big again.
Mo played some solid D and it was big of Al to play. Not all contributions show up on the stat sheet.

To the Heat fans, you probably don't want to hear it right now, but you should be proud of your team. You have some good young talent that didn't play big today. We know how that feels given what happened in our game 7 at Boston last year. I feel no need to comment anymore on the hostilities or hyperbole of the series. We'll see how much carries over to the next time our teams meet on the floor next year and then we can discuss if this rivalry has become intense.

Now take this into context. In his best year of the playoffs he faced three top 10 defenses, and shredded every single one of them. Those were the early days of Dwyane when he first got into the NBA. He is now a much more experienced veteran player, and is better then he was in 2006. His jump shot is better, his decision making is better, and his defense is a million times better. Then add to the fact that Wade still has a chip on his shoulder from last year, it would be foolish not to expect Dwyane Wade to rape the Atlanta Hawks.

I wonder what the explanation that Wade refers to on the 8 second call was? To me it seemed like a valid call (I was yelling for it as it was made) because it took Joel Anthony a long time to get the ball to Wade after the rebound because Zaza flashed in front of Wade. Note seeing any replay of it, did the shot clock start too quickly on the rebound?

yeah those couple clicker things were extremly loud. The crowd hasnt been what it was in terms of population in comparison to last year. Did anybody else notice that the playoff logos were missing on the court?

^^^ Games 1 and 5 seemed packed. Game 7 had the most gaps of all. I'm sure there are some rational reasons (early start time, short turn around, economy, Braves game?), but come on it was a game 7 people should have been fighting for the last ticket (although I understand the economy one).

While there were some Miami fans who made the trip for game 7, they were very scant the rest of the series. Last year there were a lot of Boston fans turning out to see the #1 seed, so the games were all SRO and Hawks fans had to work to make sure the right team got the fan support. Also with this being a 4-5 series I think some people paced themselves (fragile economy, tough choices) where last year it was such a longshot that we'd get to the next round that people turned out in force for the first 2 and then had several days and lots of excitement after game 4 to sell out game 6.
