He is overrated for sure. The thing is a lot of people around the league overrate him as well, we're not just Hawks fans here. With his value being a bit inflated, I don't think it's that crazy to say that he could indeed be packaged with something for a lotto pick.

depends on which side of the fence you are on the Rubio hype........ is he the next Jason Kidd? or are you like me, who thinks Ricky is a poor man's Shawn Livingston.

but anyway, if you are one of the people who 6 months ago, thought that Rubio is better than Derrick Rose, then why would that hurt in getting FAs? wouldn't that even help more?

BTW; Harris is #3?..... you really don't think that much of Rose, Billups, or Parker?

There aren't too may league professionals who are like you on this one, which means you aren't going to be able to rationalize your trades by saying he's a poor man's Shawn Livingston.

Dallas flat out screwed up taking Kidd back. No longer a true contender until they correct that position.
Personally, we need more help on the interior and those guys are harder to come by.

But look what Orlando is doing; they are playing a perimeter lineup to go with Dwight and taking it right to Cleveland. Having 4 outside shooters always makes you look better.

If we can get Marvin to play the 4 at times, and get us an athletic PG, we have a chance to improve.
Horford and Zaza might be a good enough combo to continue the run. Sounds like I am looking for a taker on Smoove doesn't it?

You obviously forgot what the Hawks looked like while smith was out injured.

Yeah, if we didn't have Smith, Al and Zaza would've taken us to the finals.

Honestly I do think that the Magic have the right idea of only having one true inside player. Having 2 guys who need to operate around the basket just clogs the lane too much for both posts and drives. I strongly prefer to have at least 1 bigman that can either knock down a midrange shot or even better step out and nail a 3 pointer. But of course it depends on how bad the matchup gets on the other side- Rashard Lewis has shocked everyone by becoming a decent defender at PF rather than the disaster that was expected. When it comes down to it I don't htink that either Smith or Horford are enough of an inside presence to let Marvin play defense against opposing PFs.

They were just as effective with Horford as with Smith. I'm not looking up the stats yet again just because you didn't read them before.

As for Horford being overrated...

Since 1979 (3pt line), the number of players to produce per36 averages of 10 rebounds, 1.5 blocks, and 55% TS in 20+ min/game at the age of 22:

Shaq
Hakeem
Zo
Kemp
Ilgauskas
Barkley
Ming
LaSalle Thompson
Brand
Howard
Biedrins
Divac
Horford
Dalembert
Dale Davis
Tyson Chandler

Yeah, he's overrated.

Nope, didn't say that, but if we had a 4 that could shoot outside, you might be seeing us go at least this deep.
Cleveland leaving Smith open was so elementary; he and Bibby both can be replaced IMO.

If we have to take a step back to get better, so be it....

bibby and smith were the only two players n the team that did ANYTHING this postseason and they are the easiest to replace? LOL.

Great guess. ESPN says it's 15 August of this year.

Smoove did sign the offer sheet on 8/8. I remember because it was on my birthday. It must be one year + one week before he would be able to sign with the Grizz.

Looking back on that situation we really owe Memphis a huge thank you. They got Josh to sign an offer sheet for what was a very reasonable contract (especially considering the type of cash LAC and Phili appeared ready to throw at him earlier in the summer) and made things really easy for us in the end.
