Re: What will the Line-up be?
I would say: Bibby/JJ/Marvin/Smith/Horford
Crawford would be great as a 6th man who can play the 1 or 2 and give relief to JJ, marvin, or bibby (marvin by shifting jj over).

Re: What will the Line-up be?
I'm expecting the same thing:
Bibby/Joe/Marvin/Josh/Al with Jamal as 6th man, but realistically fielding a full 2nd team for a change to allow the first unit to stay a bit fresher later in the season.
Second unit
Teague/Crawford/Evans/<Still to be filled>/Zaza
Still to be filled could be David Andersen or a free agent vet if we can fit them in under the luxury tax for a portion of the MLE (like a McDyess, Gooden, Smith, or someone of that ilk).
The 3rd unit will only get situational duty and are development projects that hopefully could step up in the event of injury. This is where Mario/Othello/Randolph would go provided Othello is back. No guarantee of that, but depending on how Woodson sees him I'd prefer to have him back at the minimum with a year in the system than go with another development project. I'm the opposite way with Solo. I'm hopeful they cut ties with Solomon Jones as I'd rather have an undrafted free agent banger to develop like Garrett Siler or John Bryant having given up on Jones myself. He's had plenty of time on the squad and we've seen exactly what out him. I see us needing an insurance PG as well (making a full roster). We need protection against injury, but not someone to take away Teague's minutes. I love what Flip did last year, but the acquisition of Crawford seems likely to leave him with no room at the inn. BTW, I'd love to cut ties with Randolph as he showed me nothing to think he'll ever be good, but his contract is on the books so I don't see him going anywhere.
Typing this up it made me realize how close we are to complete:
resign Zaza, add 1 more big to play some minutes at PF/C off the bench, find a cheap vet PG to man 3rd string in case of injury, and settle on development players for the end of the bench. Well, also deal with Marvin, but I'm almost certain he winds up signing for the QO because a longer, more expensive offer sheet is a big gamble for a GM and most aren't that ballsy.

Re: What will the Line-up be?
My lineup for the Hawks would be this,
C: Al Horford
PF: Josh Smith
SF: Joe Johnson
SG: Jamal Crawford
PG: Mike Bibby
Why that lineup? Well mainly because Crawford is a scorer who will take some pressure off of Joe Johnson, and Smith really is more of a power forward. Bibby still plays the point, Johnson can take the SF position easily, and Horford is a center. Not to mention the beast second team, here's what it would look like,
C: Zaza Pachulia (Assuming Re-Signed)
PF: Marvin Williams
SF: Maurice Evans
SG: Flip Murray (Assuming Re-Signed)
PG: Jeff Teague
That's a pretty good second team as well.

Starting Crawford over Marvin makes no sense. The defense and rebounding would both be terrible with that lineup.

i hope it will be:
Horford/Smith/Marvin/Joe/Jama
but since it is Woody, i'm counting on him doing the wrong thing and going with:
Horford/Smith/Marvin/Joe/Bibby

Re: What will the Line-up be?
How would doing the wrong thing be opting for the traditional lineup that already has chemistry as opposed to starting a combo guard at pg who has come off the bench for teams who haven't even come close to winning 47 games before. If Jason Terry can come off the bench than Crawford can too.
I think the 8 man regular rotation will be the same as last year except Crawford will replace Flip. I'm hoping that Teague can show enough by the end of the year to get Mo Evans minutes. Hopefully we can get another big like Diogu(maybe Andersen?) to be our 4th big man.

Re: What will the Line-up be?
Who starts is less important that who is on the court at the end of games and I expect Crawford out there at crunch time much like Flip often was last year.
^^^ Diogu could fit the bill as a 4th big as well. I'm just hopeful that they aren't expecting Solomon to step up and be a better 4th big this year. He's shrunk from the task before and I think relying on him is a recipe for let down.

Re: What will the Line-up be?
As of right now:
PG: Bibby (30)/Crawford (10)/Teague (8)
SG: JJ (35)/Crawford (10)/Evans (3)
SF: Marvin (34)/Evans (14)
PF: Smoove (35)/Horford (10)/Jones or Siler (3)
C: Horford (28)/Zaza (20)
We need to stop whoring out JJ in the regular season for a few wins and conserve him for the playoffs.

Amen to that. Crawford scoring ability should help, but Woodson is going to have get a clue for it to happen. Maybe if they resign Flip (although I think that could hurt Teague's development) it will provide enough bench scoring that Joe can actually take some breaks without the team being unable to find the basket for long stretches.

Lower Bibs minutes by 5 and JJ's by 2 or 3 and spread those out between Craw and Teague. 38 mins for Horf ?!? 30 is more like it and about 32 for Smoove and 18 for Zaza. A big fat O for Solo or Siler, but bring in Andersen at a very reasonable $3M and give him about 20 mins.
With a four man big rotation, Andersen and Zaza can fight for minutes and we keep Smoove and Horf fresh at around 30 a night.
I think Craw is going to fit in nicely as back up PG / SG. I htink he'll get over 25 mins and Bibs will get a little less; keep him fresh and hitting his three's. Mo is now our eighth man and Teague can get his 10 minutes a game.
There is also the possibility of a Chil deal to bring in a better big than Zaza. I'm looking at the idea of letting someone else give Zaza about $5-$6M a year and looking to upgrade through a trade or signing involving Chil and filler. Zaza's OK, but he couln't get twenty minutes on a bigman starved team the last couple seasons.
Horf / Dice or Gooden / FA
Smoove / Andersen
MW / Mo
JJ / Craw / FA
Bibs / Teague / FA

Re: What will the Line-up be?
Not sure I agree about Mcdyess or Gooden over Zaza. All 3 are about equal at rebounding. Dice is not a true center and is getting pretty old. Gooden is not a true center and I think he's a pretty bad individual defender based on what Chicago and Cleveland fans say.
The Hawks should be looking at a way to retain Zaza and bring Anderson over.

Re: What will the Line-up be?
I would go with this line up if I wanted to run more:
Bibby/Drawford/Johnson/Smith/Horford
BUT if I want to play the half court I would go with thus:
Bibby/Johnson/Williams/Smith/Horford
It all depends on what the coach wants to run, we already know of the two line ups he could go with
