Well, that one surprises me. I didn't think that they would match and pay so much (counting luxury tax) for a backup C. I suspect that Gortat will likely be dealt before his contract is up, but that Orlando wanted to make an all-out push for a title this year. I just don't think they leave that much invested behind Howard long term.

So Orlando got Bass and Gortat? Didn't Smith say something about not paying that much for a guy to play 12 minutes a game behind Dwight? I have been crtiical of Smith int he past but he really pulled one over on Dallas.
