Memphis shocked many when they rescinded Warrick's $3 million QO earlier today.

So, it got me wondering...would it be a good idea for the Hawks to test the waters and see if they can sign Warrick? He was a RFA, but correct me if I'm wrong, if a QO is rescinded that automatically makes the player a UFA?
The Hawks are at a snag with Marvin Williams, and while I think Marvin and Hakin are pretty much similar, I was curious to know what the REALGM/Hawks nation thought of this particular idea.
I'd say, if we can't swing a deal with Marvin, S&T him somewhere so at least you get something back in return. I think that $7.35 million is a little high for a QO...especially if you can now sign Warrick to a 2 yr/$4-5 million contract....and pretty much get the same production.

Warrick defense is not as good as marvin's. but other than that they are about the same.

One important point is that Marvin has developed a 3pts shot, not Warrick.
The way it has opened things in ATL, I don't see why we should make a backstep by replacing Marvin by Warrick.
Maybe he's certainly a better rebounder, even if I am not sure about that since it's also a context thing as Warrick play more at PF than Marvin.
Seeing Marvin playing while Smith was out show how he can rebound in the same role of Warrick, and in a better team.
Warrick is also 4 years older.

^^ I don't think we're "at a snag" with Marvelous, I just think we're letting him establish his value. Right now, he's out there trying to get offers from other teams that might be higher than our offer. I don't believe that he'll find many offers at all. Not that he's not worthy of interest but, in this recession and with our ability to match, he's in a bind. Good for us; bad for him.
We're not in trouble with Marvelous; we're just waiting for him to come to us. We did the same thing with Childress and he countered with Greece. Smoove came to us with MEM.

My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

I agree with Parson. I think we'll eventually re-sign Marvin to the 37-40 mill deal that's rumored to be on the table. Given the down market, I don't see Marvin getting that kind of money from anyone else.
I'd sign Warrick to a one-year deal for bench depth though.

Marvin and Warrick are unrelated...Marvin is a SF and happen to be our best man to man defender vs star wing players. Warrick has never played SF in college or the NBA.
