Hawks offense

Post#1 » by tontoz » Thu Nov 12, 2009 8:26 pm

Last year the Hawks relied heavily on the 3 ball. This year so far only Bibby and Mo are hitting 3s. Everyone else has been off from 3.

So how are the Hawks scoring so many points? They are number 1 in the NBA in pts in the paint, 4th in fast break points and 7th in free throws made per game. They are doing a good job getting the easy points necesary to score when the jumpers aren't falling.

It will be interesting to see how their offense holds up against Boston's defense. I still think they are doing too much dribbling in the half court sets.

Can't think that Joe and Jamal will continue to shoot around Josh's career 3 pt percentage.

Boston is one of the teams that has pushed us around in the paint in the the past with the array of bigs. It could be interesting to see how we react to their defense this time. Joe's normally had a big advantage against them if they don't double. Sadly it always seems like we have no answer for Pierce in the end maybe that will be different now. Early line has them favored by 8.5 which isn't surprising considering how well they've played this year.

We are better and deeper. It's really that simple. The NBA is about the players, and for the first time in Woody's tenure, we have a legit 9-10 man rotation.
