A challenge to find help

Post#1 » by evildallas » Fri Feb 12, 2010 4:25 pm

Several people have posted suggestions to try and improve the Hawks via trade. Two problems with that are that the Hawks are very concerned with chemistry/continuity and we lack the desirable assets to make a serious trade. We'll know in a week if anything happens.

In the meantime I wanted to start people thinking about 2 other sources of help. Who is available in the D league who might be able to provide a bench boost (scoring or rebounding)? What veterans might get bought out down the stretch that we could try to woo? I understand that each of these ideas has problems like would Woodson even play them and would they be more likely to go elsewhere, but I'm just looking for candidates to add a little spark.

My own response:
While another bench scorer is needed in case of injury, seeing Jason Collins play makes me think a big is priority 1. I would like to suggest that Adele Aminu is doing some decent work in the D-league and might be worth a 10 day look.

Kwame Brown
Tony Battie

^^^Those are the two names I'm thinking could offer anything to the Hawks. Who knows if they'll get waived.

Anthony Tolliver was the guy that I wanted the Hawks to sign out of hte D league but he is now on the Warriors roster. I think the Hawks could really use a big who can stretch the floor. I think it would help a ton against teams that just pack the middle against hte Hawks.

Aminu showed very shaky hands in the D-League All-Star game. Another big Brian Butch really stood out (enough to get the MVP). I wouldn't mind seeing him get a look, but John Bryant might prove to be an even more consistent banger and rebounder.

Sund recently said he won't be signing a D-Leaguer for various (read: financial) reasons.

I would think it has more to do with their suckiness more than their cost.

Trade Marvin for a Center, it would be wise and awesome all at once.
