I'm not believing for one minute that Z will ever sign with Atlanta over Cleveland, but I would love for this situation to permanently end this loophole. And I think the disparity in offers could, in fact, accomplish that.

Mrhonline, thanks to correct the part I was not sure, with the 108% being applied on what he would get from ATL, so the prorated part, and not of the full MLE.
Meanwhile, the 180 days in the LarryCoon FAQ is a example, and this why I used 169.
Talking about "season", I did not count the preseason games, and from October 28th to April 14th, it makes 169 days.
You 're right on the 51 days (I forgot to count Monday March 1st, and the January 10th);
So it would make 5.854 x 118/169 x 2.08 = 8,501,809
with 4,087,408 in first year, and 4,414,401 in second year.
I think the same, but what I want before that is that all the media talk about that exactly, to have everybody understand that ATL can make this huge offer.
At this point, lots of people are thinking that the offer would be nearly the same prorated minimum salary.

Thanks for that correction. Trying to read closely on the Internet and wash dishes at the same time is a stupid combination.
The Cavs can't sign Ilgauskas until the 22nd of March, so for the Cavs:
1.99 x 97/169 x 2.08 = $2,375,754
Looking at this season alone:
Hawks - $4.087M
Cavs - $1.142M
Next season:
Hawks - $4.414M
Cavs - $1.234M (which is LESS than the league minimum)
Wow.

If we can pull this off that would be outstanding.
Anything but him going back to Cleveland
Anything but him going back to Cleveland

The Hawks believe Zydrunas Ilgauskas eventually will re-sign with Cleveland when he’s eligible to do so.
Cleveland Cavaliers traded center Zydrunas Ilgauskas to the Washington Wizards - in the three-team deal that brought Antawn Jamison to Cleveland.

But the Hawks, unlike some other suitors for Ilgauskas, are not giving up hope. If Ilgauskas decides to play for another team, the Hawks feel they have the best shot at landing him, a person familiar with situation said on Monday.
The person said Ilgauskas is “leaning towards” re-signing with the Cavaliers after they traded him and then the Wizards subsequently released him. Ilgauskas officially cleared waivers on Monday. Link

That is very true. Unfortunately for Atlanta, Z never had any intentions of signing elsewhere, which is the primary reason Cleveland dealt him for Jamison.
